I think I covered that long ago and then a couple times over when I said that she would like to have Deval but his being from the state would be problematic, eh? Back long before he annouonced. Good for you to begin to catch up though.

Also, I see you are beginning to state my position as "will have" him on ticket with Warren. I guess that is how the binary mind works.

I have said that it is possible and that he probably would be interested in other positions in a dem administration too so has multiple reasons for running. Also, lest you forget, Biden could be the nominee and he could be Biden's VP, which is also a form of being VP, eh? The fact that I do not think Biden will be the nominee does not necessarily mean he will not. It is my position.

And as I said before "no way" can suddenly change when an out of work candidate is suddenly asked to join a ticket as the VP nominee. I take your point that that may not be his goal but that is not at odds with what I am saying. He can have the goal of being president but also have to deal with reality when/if that sets in. :

My advice to her would be to sit this dance out. She is young and can go again when the normal rotation of parties occurs. If Trump wins then people will be ready for a rotation at the end of his second term, if not already. If she runs now and links her fate to Biden or some other loser then she is damaged goods. If on the other hand, Trump loses in 2020 she will still be young and in favor with a lefty administration so her star and fate will still continue to rise.

Just imagine Abrams running with Biden, losing and then trying to go again down the road, having been tied to Biden. She would be worse off than if she had just decided to sit this one out. I get that Joe needs her. Just not sure she is going to let herself be taken down off the shelf even if Joe is the nominee.

Point being, who wants to be on a losing ticket as a VP? Might as well be at the top of the ticket. He's probably the most qualified of all of them. It takes a lot to be a governor and run a state. Being a Senator is easy, they don't do anything. They vote on stuff. Whewwww.

No, I really don't think that Deval and Stacey are in the same relative situtations. The clock ticks differently for them.

Deval is 63. Has lib experience as a justice department civil rights senior guy, has - for better or worse- private sector Bain Capital experience- and two terms as governor of Massachusetts. And on top of that, everyone even remotely connected to Obama knows that he is Obama's number one choice for the nomination, even if it does not happen. So I dont really know when the iron will get hotter for him. He already gone up and over the top of the bell curve and was on the downside. ie. most people dont even know who the hell he is, if they ever did. Not sure how more age and shlocking around in the private sector more will help him.

Stacey can spin around as a rising star type and is young enough to go again for the vp or as prez more times. I just dont see how time is on Deval's side now.

Maybe if Poco gets elected he will want to run for Senator to take her place instead of VP. That could be too. Just sayin he needs to get re-connected with public office if he wants to keep his flag flying. Can't be out running some non-profit "get out the vote" organization like Stacey is doing. Not sayin that Warren could win but he is most likely not planning his political career based on what I think.

You are a fuzzy thinker. What will happen is a separate issue altogether than a discussion of what may be motivating Deval and what his thinking is. The fact that those things might not happen does not change that whatsoever.

Same for lots of other candidates. A discussion of why Booker is hanging around and why he has suddenly gone from Mr. Sparticus to Mr. Fungible Unity "I can be anyone's VP" is not changed one bit by my statement that he ain't gonna be anyone's VP. A discussion of his motivations is entirely separate from whether he will achieve anything or not. Ditto for Steyer, Bloomberg, and so on.

You are correct in thinking there is a place for him in a Democrat administration. Not VP.

As to Abrams, there is free will and she is certainly allowed to not be the VP. However, her star will fade if she doesn’t get back in the game soon. she has outgrown being a state representative and is not running for senate or governor anytime soon. So that leaves her very few options.

As to you thinking she is apprehensive about being in a Biden ticket, that’s your own thinking. Abrams is a serious person with a sharp mind. She would lift any democrat ticket.

Warren is already considered to be outside the bounds of acceptable/electable leftyness. Adding Abrams to the ticket would only make it worse. Warren's ticket would be lifted by a moderate not a professional victim who wants to cancel and replace America.

Also, no ticket would be lifted by having two women on it. It may be lifted among the professional pundit tv chattering class, but not in the voting booths on election day. Just one of those women alone- poco or abrams- is more noise than most voters - men or women- want to hear.
