I said this last week and I'll say it again... there's no way Patrick is playing second fiddle to anyone, especially Pokey. Keep an eye on him though... his arrival has now somewhat dampened my Biden/Abrams prognostication. I know you think I'm nuts, but mark my word, he might just be the the one.

Abrams as VP only invites support from those already locked in to voting DEM. I think Abrams could be the Pailin that sinks Dems in 2020 if they choose her.

True. Thing is though Ocho... a lot of those "locked in Dems".... mainly African-Americans... will stay home without a strong impetus to hit the polls. She has the kind of charisma required to make that happen.
The 2020 Presidential Election is going to be determined by the number of AA's that show up to vote.
Patrick can make that happen too. If he gains traction, she'll be forgotten.
My focus is on Michigan, Penn and Wisconsin and I believe deep down the VP selection will be someone who can hand those states to Dems. As of right now I don't know who that is to be honest but just not thinking it is Abrams.
There is no forced law that the VP has to be one of the people who were running and lost in the primaries. After all why pick a loser as your VP from that bunch. Look to see if there is a Senator or Governor from those states that might be ripe for the picking..just thinking out loud.
And as I said before "no way" can suddenly change when an out of work candidate is suddenly asked to join a ticket as the VP nominee. I take your point that that may not be his goal but that is not at odds with what I am saying. He can have the goal of being president but also have to deal with reality when/if that sets in. And also as I said before, let's face it, being VP is still a pretty good job for a guy from the south side of Chicago.
Also, I do not think it is nutty for him to think about running for president. I do think that it is nutty for him to deal with it by coming in this late if that is his only goal- which I do not believe. I think he wants to get back into the public sector at some level. Being president would be good, other roles too. I also dont think it is impossible for him to be nominated....in the same way that a far, far, far out of the money option can pay off sometimes. The way he would get there would be for the entire dem convention to shiite the bed and the parties cannot resolve their differences and agree to shift their support to one of their major opponents so they settle on one of the minor players. I can't rule that out but spend no time thinking about it. There are others here who see that scenario and argue that that is when Hillary comes in. Those are all extreme outlier discussions and I am fine with that but treat them as such.
And if you are on your game and want to attack the most vulnerable part of my argument, you will reply back by saying: "Sure, but just keep in mind that Trump's election was an outlier too." You would be a cruel man to do that.

Don’t worry about Warren choosing Patrick, she is prepping Andrew Gilliam for VP.

There is wide and deep concern and reality out there about Poco being wayyyyyyyyyy to far left. In no way do I see the Bidenites being on board with allowing her to put a far left loon like Andrew Gilliam on the ticket to make things even worse. Deval would work but choices are not limited to him. You have donors already bailing out on Warren bigtime...try adding the prospect of adding or actually adding Gilliam to the ticket and see how that works out.
