Delusional People in the US

It's pretty obvious on this site that there are a load of Americans out there that have no understanding of reality anymore. Facts, science, fundamental truths don't matter to these people it's their political beliefs, their religion, and ideas they like on social media.

This can't be good for the US moving forward.

How can one operate when something as basic as counting votes in an election has people simply denying the result they don't like ? That's what fascist dictators in banana republics do. How can you deal with a pandemic by simply denying it exists or claiming falsely it's like a common cold or mild flu ? What is the point of assuming something occurred with no evidence that it did occur ?

I am reminded why the Protestant religion came into being, basically a renouncement of the Catholic church at the time. The idea that the ultimate knowledge/authority came from the Pope regardless of his true knowledge, background, and skills was a problem. So why is the US to some degree back tracking to that kind of primitive thought process ? Why is anything Trump said, no matter how silly or untrue it is, believed so faithfully by some people ?

I just think it's sad the rest of the US needs to take back their country from the idiots.
