DELL 30" Ultra Sharp

30inch = 90% of resolution of 2x24

i did my calculations & got a 30 a few weeks back.

having a single screen give you more options as to how you can align your charts. you're not restricted by 1920x1200..

downside is the need to purchase a dual link video card that will support 2560x1600 resolution.

will post pics soon

You will be better off with 2 x Dell 24" LCDs vs the 1 x Dell 30".

More screen real estate with 2 x 24" vs 1 x 30".

Each 24" has 1920 x 1200. I run the 2 24" monitors using a dual DVI video card. Most modern cards have dual DVI output. Just look on newegg.com if you need to upgrade.

for those of U who use 2 or 3 monitors side by side, does the same thing show on all the monitors?

No. Windows has Extended Desktop feature... all of the monitors will act act as one large monitor where you can position windows and charts wherever you wish.

Yeah, that's a lot of restriction, all right...

So then all monitors show the same thing then. right? just bigger (more real estate)

Or am I misunderstanding what you're saying?

So you're asking if a picture of my dog Skippy will appear the same on each of 4 monitors? Then, NO.

With 4 monitors, you can have browser on one, market data on 2nd, charts on 3rd, porn on 4th... with 2 monitors, browser + data on #1, charts + porn on #2...whatever you want.

Yeah, that is what I was asking..if your doggy would be on all the monitors.

I get it now

Thank You!

You can also, if you WANT, have all 4 monitors display one image... maybe a landscape or video game or something. Each monitor would display only its portion of the image.

It seems that the most economical way would be to get 2 x 19" . However, the easiest on the eyes would be the 30" model. Just out of curiosity, anybody out there using apple's 30" monitor, or perhaps something even bigger?
