Might as well as the same question of the internet entirely. The (un)civilized discourse isn't limited to anything at ET.

You could I suppose. Civilized discourse. The New York Times. Newspapers. Would you say they promote civilized discourse? Why is this topic springing up in a Wide Variety of publications simultaneously? Who benefits?

Politics section make this web site more interesting. Are you saying that the politics section affects the quality of responses in other section.
