What they should do with D.C. is take the area and give half the land to Maryland and the other half to Virginia. Keep a few core government buildings (White House, Capitol Building, etc.) as "D.C." and have them administered by officials appointed by the legislature.

NFW DC should be made a state. The only solution is retrocession to MD, just like they did with the part that was in VA.

There is no need for a District of Columbia enclave to exist which includes the homes of permanent residents (beyond the White House for the president).

You and Atlantic have indicated that the reason for DC Statehood is to help Democrats. Atlantic admitted it by stating that Republicans would do it if the shoe was on the other foot. ---That is the only reason as there is no benefit to The Union by admitting DC as a state. It's unconstitutional anyway.

There is definitely a benefit to The Union by admitting DC as a state.Resizing DC is constitutional,its been done before and the constitutional does not say the exact size it has to be.

Making a new state is constitutional, ithas been many times before.
