And nobody forced lenders to lend. They shotgun out mass loan applications and never bother to check if any of them actually have the ability to pay.
We need creditor's prisons and a sense of corporate responsibility in this country.
Fuq the moneylenders.
And fuq you for chopping up my post to meet your corporate asskissing agenda.
Quote from Trader666:
Answer my question loser. Do you also think it's McDonald's fault for "making people fat?"
You sound like a professional victim. Get a clue: you make your own destiny.
Quote from Sandybestdog:
Your obviously not getting my point. Why do you people always give the âwork harderâ answer to everything. How is someone starting out now ever able to save enough to put down 20% on a 200 or 300k mortgage? By the time you save 50k, the house will go up another 100k, and then youâll have to save even more.
How is someone who makes $8 an hour ever able to afford anything beyond a 1 bedroom shack and Cup OâNoodles? If they work 40-50 hours a week, are they not working hard? Oh I forgot, theyâre the scum of the earth working low wage jobs. They deserve to live in poverty because theyâre not educated. If you worked 2 jobs just to pay the bills, donât you think you would think youâre âentitledâ to a few luxuries?
Tell the person who racked up the credit cards to pay for outrageous medical expenses that they should work harder. Tell the person paying hundreds a month on health insurance, they should work harder. Tell the student who just graduated with 50 or 100k in student loans to work harder.
The baby boomers who taut this âyou donât work hard enoughâ crap did relatively little to deserve their wealth. They were blessed with good paying jobs before corporations shipped every job to Mexico and the government shipped Mexicanâs to take the rest of our jobs here. They rode the inflation boom since the late 70âs when the Dow was at 500 and a 5,000 square foot home was $50,000. And they will get their social security and pension checks that are paid for by my generation through taxes that I will never benefit from, and inflation that I pay for through higher prices.
So now maybe youâll rethink why people hit up the credit cards. Bring down the cost of living and youâll bring down debt. Bring back good, productive jobs, and youâll bring down debt. Otherwise we will never fix the root of the problem.
And you guys wonder why people voted for Obama. You tell them to work harder, he gave them hope, or at least the illusion of it.
Quote from Trader666:
No, you're not getting my point. Life is what you make of it. Nobody is entitled to anything.
Where baby boomers really screwed up is in raising your generation with a sense of entitlement... a trophy and praise for everyone, regardless of pereformance. And now you're finding out that the real world doesn't work that way.
That "someone who makes $8 an hour" was probably more concerned with sports or their social life in school than academics and is now reaping what they sowed. Everyone's not entitled to own a house and everyone's not entitled to luxuries. You have to earn them.
Obama isn't the key to your future, you are.
Quote from Sandybestdog:
You can continue to spew your crap, and people will continue to vote Democrat. When you tell someone who works 2 jobs and 50 hours a week that they didnât work hard enough, you arenât going to accomplish anything. They will vote for the person who will give them what they thought they deserved by working hard. The rich will turn America socialist, not the poor. They have no one to blame, but themselves. Remember what your parents told you when you were a kid, âwork hard and follow the rules, and you can accomplish anything.â Not valid anymore.
Most people decades ago never went to college, yet they made a good living. Now, more people are graduating from college than ever before, yet average wages are falling. Care to explain that? More college graduates than ever before = lower wages?
There arenât enough of your kind of jobs for everybody. Not everbody can be an engineer or computer programmer. Somebody has to flip the burgers, somebody has to be the cashier.
BTW I didnât vote for Obama, but Iâm glad he won. Republicans brought this on themselves. Do you think if everybody had a good job and decent standard of living Obama would have one? No, McCain would have one by a landslide. Let this be a lesson to you.
Quote from Trader666:
A lesson to me? ROTFLMAO!!! You're the one with the sense of entitlement, you're the one with the victim's mentality, and you're the one who's unsatisfied with their situation.
Grow up and take responsibility for your own life and your own situation or you'll always be a bitter loser.

I never said I was entitled to anything. I said people who work hard and live in poverty donât want to hear from you that they didnât work hard enough. They will just vote Democrat because they donât understand why their working their ass off and canât get ahead.
How am I supposed to get ahead in life then? Go to college? That costs anywhere between 10-30k a year. How am supposed to afford that making $10 an hour? I have to take out a loan. Oh wait a minute, thatâs what this thread is all about. People having instant gratification for what they want now. So people shouldnât go to college if they have to take out a loan?
This is your logic. People who work low wage jobs deserve to live in poverty. So to get ahead they should work even harder, presumably by going to college. This is obviously not affordable, so they have to take out loans, which you say they are giving into instant gratification. Your solution to the problem is the problem itself. Got any more bright ideaâs?
