I am tired of useless "trading rooms" that charge hundreds or thousands of dollars to join. By its very nature, most owners of these rooms don't even trade since they receive all of their profit from the membership of the room itself.
I am a professional futures trader - In other words, trading daily is my only source of income!
What do you think of creating an organization of ACTUAL professional retail traders? A group which is not subscription based, but rather verifies already successful traders to be part of the group? Why doesn't this exist...
{ I refuse to believe that successful, professional traders have an ego so large that they are not willing to work together and become even more successful. I believe this because I DID NOT get to where I am by "being a guru", not listening or asking questions, or working with others to get better at what I do. A support system is always beneficial in any type of business. }
I can't be the only professional (see my definition of professional above) trader here. In my mind it would make sense for successful retail traders get together to form an "Online Retail Firms" of sorts.
I value any and all constructive criticisms to this "wild" idea.
Keep in mind that some data/news vendors have their own chat rooms. Some only cater to retail traders (e.g. thinkorswim) whereas others cater to professional traders (e.g. bloomberg)...all included with the subscription.
Simply, you may have to look at your own data vendor to see if they have chat rooms. Another that had them a long time ago was TradeStation but I don't know if they still do. QCharts use to have its own chat room but that quickly dried up when eSignal purchased QCharts. It use to be a damn good chat room and was really surprised that eSignal showed no interest in maintaining the chat room...soon after eSignal purchased QCharts...the chat rooms dried up although they were very popular without a lot of crap.
Also, keep in mind that with today's social media...many professionals are just creating their own "private" chat rooms via the numerous low cost software out there...usually just people that work together at some financial institution although the bosses don't like such.
I just find it odd that the few times Baron opens up a chat room whenever he gets a lot of requests for such (I count 15 different members in the past year alone that has asked for a chat room to be located here at ET itself)...folks don't show up or its always a pssssing match between those that do show up.
Eventually he shuts it down.
Whether i got something to teach or not is a moot point as its not happening . You are exactly the type of moron that destroys any positive ideas/intent in any chat room and are exactly what im trying to avoid ..
