Crazy paper trading day

Now I'll finally get around to responding to the only actual constructive response, and thank you @easymon1 for being constructive...

Platforms under consideration: AMP, IB, NinjaTrader, TradeStation. I need to find out all their fees and probably download and play with them a bit. Won't take long once I have the time to do it.

Methods under consideration: here's the important part. I honestly like my "news release" strategy but it's not enough to rely only on that even if it works every time. It's only 2-3 times per month. Aside from that, I have a lot of manual tick backtesting to do before I find if there's some TA script I can use. Aside from that, my options are trying to go with the trend, but this can easily go wrong especially without defined rules. Perhaps I can learn short-term "price action" strategies, but I think my style is more algorithmic and that is my goal to eventually create algos that can run while I'm sleeping.

AMP isn't a platform, it's a broker, they are the cheapest with the lowest commissions and margins and offer a bunch of platforms to choose from.

Oh so when I do something it's luck, right?

Stop commenting on my posts. You offer nothing of value. You're clearly trying to project your own failures and incompetence on to others.

If you don't know how you did it, and you clearly mentioned a few times you had no system, didn't know what you were doing was right or wrong and just went with gut feeling, the answer is an obvious yes, it was pure luck.

If it wasn't luck you would be doing it day in day out, printing money, yet here you are, still looking for a system, lost, not knowing what to do, still thinking straddling the news actually works like you experienced in demo ...

I straddled the news in real. You guys just hear what you want to hear

I was trend following. Often had to wait over a day in the red before a position turned around.

I'm looking to refine

Anyone reminded of the old "Steve Jobs reality distortion field"? One day we're all going to be working for FJ. Since, clearly, none of us have the faintest idea of what he's doing or talking about.

Wait ... if you are trend following intraday, waiting days for a red position to turn green means you are not trend following, refusing to be wrong and getting lucky, or following swing trading trend in which case drawdown should be expected and or statistically represented.
