Crane Operators making $500K???

Just saw a firefighter driving an Audi A8. Those things start at 78k. Did a tax return last year for a retired FF and his pension was 72k per year. I wonder if our Social Security checks will be that high when we retire? No wonder the state is broke.

What state was that in. I have some buddies on the fire department and in my city it's private, and some if their pensions are larger than that. And that's without the state guarantee on any of it. Years ago they opted out of the state system and hired a private money manager and it's worked out well for them. Some retiring at more than they were making while working full-time.
