a libertarian doesn't have to believe that the government is worthless and should be eliminated.
Libertarians don't believe that government is worthless and should be eliminated. So I don't know what you're going on about.

I don't know if this poster is really a libertarian or just trolling, but I give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he is serious.
So I offer him as yet another example of why libertarianism is not a viable philosophy of governing. Like pacificism, it strings together some admirable sentiments, yet leaves the dirty work for others to do.
ok, since you seem to be the sole expert and spokesman for the libertarian party on this website, why don't you state exactly what I need to believe and adhere to call myself a libertarian. I'm pretty sure I will fail the test and you will just be one member weaker due to your narrow definition.Libertarians don't believe that government is worthless and should be eliminated. yeah well, I'm a hell of a lot more libertarian than you areI'm not recruiting for the Libertarian party. If you don't believe in the principles then that's that. Just stop calling yourself something you're not. People think that they can call themselves Libertarian when they don't believe in either Democrats and Republicans. Choosing to be Independent doesn't make you a Libertarian.
Most people find some agreement with some Libertarian policies, but find themselves adamantly opposed to others. That's ok. The goal of the Libertarian movement isn't to turn everyone into a Libertarian. It's just to get public policy to move that direction, a little at a time. Libertarians are in it for the long haul.

. I'll await with patient eagerness. I promise not to hold my breath.Because you can't even explain what a libertarian is. All you can do is claim anyone who believes food stamps are good is not a libertarian. I've already told you that a libertarian believes the rights of the individual trumps the rights of the government. Not very earth shaking since it was written in the Declaration of Independence.Really? Please explain how you came to this moment of "clarity". I'll await with patient eagerness. I promise not to hold my breath.

Avoiding the question again and . . .
Tossing it back into the other's court.
Can we detect a pattern of behavior here?

All you do is dance around and disqualify anyone who says anything you disagree with.
And furthermore, I don't want to ever again have anything to do with your so called "libertarian" party and will never again describe my self as a "libertarian" because it is obvious you are just as mentally depraved as those who call themselves "republicans" or "democrats" or "independents".
You are all crack pots
So yes, you are correct. I am not a libertarian, and never ever want to be one.
