COVID part deux, the Virus Strikes Back

Everywhere there is a lockdown, there will be a second "wave" -----Which is really just a delay of the rest of the first wave.

So what ? I'll take less infections and less deaths every single time. There is zero chance Canada puts up the numbers the US has already put up. Damage is done too many dumb asses like you denied the virus was even an issue. However, if you don'f get your shit together for the do over ( second wave ), the numbers will again be brutal in the second wave.

No one is discounting the virus. It's just that some of us feel we have a better handle on how to approach it. It's better in my view to just get it over with.

It isn't just about the virus, that's the point I've always been about. Its about all the effects a lock down cause.

I'll say this again because it bears repeating. There are two variables in this equation. One is the virus impact and one is the economic impact. If someone says "to hell with the economic impact" (as has been said multiple times to me) then they are full of it.

If you were the leader of the world and had to make a choice, and you knew with complete certainty that shutting down the whole world's economy for 1 month would save 10 lives - just 10 people, you'd feel bad, but you'd consign those 10 people to their death because shutting down the whole world for a month would have so much greater negative impact to so many more people. Its a no brainer.

But if you were told shutting down the world for 1 month would save 300 million people, that's an easy decision as well. You shut down the world.

So the answer is somewhere between those two. Total economic impact for total lives saved. It is an exercise in subjectivity and your threshold for acceptance might differ from another leader. And that is the point.

You have to examine both variables. You can't just act on one.

And the economic and mental health impact has been far far more damaging than the virus itself. I think there is some further damage as well. I believe that the Democrat party is self destructing because of their reaction towards, and activism in regard to, Kung Flu.

There is no evidence at all to support this theory of yours. The measures taken greatly reduced the infection and death tolls, and I don't see any economic impact yet that is permanent in nature. The stock market is indicating that most people think this way too, that the economic impact is temporary in nature.

The stock market is going up because of two factors.----Gummint passing out money and small bidness decimated in favor of big bidness.---The damage that I described is massively palpable.

I see no evidence here in Canada that there is any lasting economic impact on our country. Only a prolonged period of many years with the virus still being a problem would create such a situation. And you don't see the people or any political parties suggesting the lock down was unneeded or will unduly tax our economy in a lasting manner. This seems to be a uniquely American take on things.

Interesting stats-----9 million school age children in California-----The state has will not be opening schools due to The Kung Flu------There currently are zero deaths of school age children in California due to The Kung Flu..

That's your theory. In a few years none of this will matter, life will go on for all survivors. Americans are so over the top on this issue it's really not as bad as people make out. The medical threat is the only negative dodge the virus it will all work out.
