COVID-19

Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has quietly updated its guidance to say that the virus “does not spread easily” from contaminated surfaces and is primarily transmitted through person-to-person contact. The change to the CDC website was made earlier this month without formal announcement or explanation, and some public health experts worry that it could give people the impression that they don’t have to wash their hands quite so often.

Why is the CDC making such an announcement in secret and not letting us all know....because they are afraid we will stop washing our hands or taking precautions?

People in American want to bitch about not being sheep in being told to wear masks but this is a perfect example of the problem we face. The average American is stupid and more motivated to not be told what to do even by doctors rather than do one simple thing to stop the spread.

As I always say it is clear why so many other countries put in measures of 30-45 days on average and began emerging with basic protocols and we just hit month 2 for most states and we still have a disorganized front on best practices and what to do. I have clients in Mexico, DR, Panama, Malaysia and Japan that are on limited lockdowns and various openings already while we fight daily on CNN and FOX.

There is an easy answer to this.... Weeks ago Trump banned the CDC from making public announcements or media appearances. All they are allowed to do is to post information quietly on their website.

This why this information about contaminated surfaces was not publicized and the release of the full 60 page CDC guideline for states was not publicized. They were merely quietly placed on the CDC website.

Well to be clear, Walmart, Target and Home Depot have social distancing measures in place which are easy to follow given the size (wide aisles, 6ft separation on checkout lines, etc. Many restaurants are asking to pack people in on top of each other without PPE and sharing food/drink. I think it is harder for restaurants and bars in phased reopnings but not impossible to achieve some safety precautions.
