The US has had perhaps the worst Covid experience in the developed world beyond perhaps Brazil. A big part of the reason for that is the public's refusal to accept legit recommendations and information from the medical community and science community.
Not only are 205,000 Americans dead from Covid, it has been estimated that triple that number have chronic health issues from a Covid experience. The exact numbers don't matter the point is on every level your numbers are god awful way worse then similar countries like Canada. And even the lulls where numbers have improved ( like Florida the last week ), your numbers are still worse then Canada. And we've been basically open almost two months now. So has Canada's more careful approach killed our economy worse then yours ? Not according to the data. Canada is forecast at -5.8% this year and +4% next year. US forecasts aren't much different at all.
