The Ruskies are rolling their vaccine out because the Americans and the Brits are. Nevermind that it is not ready. And the people are not lining up for it.

The Chinese had this problem too but they dealt with it by just ordering people to take it so they don't have the "no-show" problem. Or at least large populations, such as the military for starters.

But even when production lines are up and running, there could be another issue to contend with.

We only saw a handful of people getting injected on the first day of "mass" vaccination. On Monday, a reporter for Novaya Gazeta described similar scenes at another Moscow clinic.

According to the paper, a nurse had to throw some Sputnik V away when she defrosted it and no-one turned up.

That's a worry when the country is being hit hard by Covid, reporting close to 30,000 new cases a day. But it seems many Russians may have decided to wait.

"A lot of people don't believe in the vaccine at this point," Svetlana Zavidova believes. "I hope if there's real scientific data, they will change their minds."

In the latest news we see that nearly a year into this almost half of the deaths are still happening in nursing homes. The response to this is still to close restaurants, bars, schools, churches, a variety of small businesses, but nursing homes...wide open, come one, come all. WTF? Evidently the policy makers and experts believe all these nursing home patients are sneaking out for dinner and drinks after taking their grandkids to school. Idiots.
 
I think I've got it figured out as to why they're doing absolutely nothing to protect the elderly in nursing homes. Pneumonia has often been referred to as the "friend of the aged" as it puts people out of their misery. That is quite dated so evidently they want to replace pneumonia with Covid as the new friend to the aged.
Stupid as it sounds that would be more acceptable reasoning than what can easily be described as criminal negligence at this point given there is no logical reason to keep exposing this group to the virus knowing it will kill most of them.
