Cornel West, Progressive Scholar, Announces Third-Party Bid for President

What do you mean nothing changed? Dude made the GOP go full nazi w/their agenda. He made it OK to be overt w/that shit. Sure McTurtle packed the court but Trump still got a say on the picks (against McConnell's choices). If Trump wasn't as spastic undisciplined ADD useless fuck, he'd have rammed thru a lot more of his wish list with shame tactics. Look how bad GOP states that bent the knee on his COVID wishes did.

We were talking about Murkowski and Romney - did their actions change because Trump attacked them?

No

You know sure as hell I'm not saying go on Twitter and insult someone's wife. No need to be disingenuous. I gave you a list of shit he could've hit Manchin with. You make it sound like we didn't have a Teddy or FDR who went HAM on the opposition.

I am giving an example, Trump trades in personal attacks and insulting wives is not the most extreme thing he said. And how are you comparing the FDR era to now?

Kid gloves, shit was never put to the test.

Like they give a shit if they are attacked.

Moron, seriously? Yes I see the fucking makeup of the senate and guess what, police reform is an easy ask for these types. Why would they give a fuck about police reform or token shit like weed/shrooms/mdma/ketamine rescheduling (this last one not even needs to go thru congress)? Do you think they're gonna sit there and hold up a bill and take the political hit if it's on TV 24/7 that they're the hold outs? I get minimum wage because they're corrupt but police reform? C'mon. B.b.b.b..but the GOP? Hold meetings w/the sensible ones, at least make a public effort that you're trying. A failed vote on an attempt is better than no attempt at all.

You need 60 votes for police reform bill, did you forget that? It's not a budgetary thing to get passed with 50 votes. This is what I am talking about, where is the eye on details?

I don't know wtf you're on about. I've made it clear I'm voting dem next election and advise everyone do the same because I understand it's an easier ask to bend someone in a democracy than to relinquish power to an authoritative state. What I'm not blind to is the amount of disappointment in this presidency and the very real threat a black candidate that's loved by many or some self-help lady saying all the same things Joe was saying during his campaign can pose. I don't get how it's on them (or their hypothetical voters) that Joe's numbers are in the gutter.

I don't care how you vote, I am pointing to the pearl clutching by people who don't understand how things work. Why didn't he pass this bill and that, dude - have you seen the Senate makeup? Be disappointed, doesn't mean you don't have to be realistic.

So you cite two holdouts on principle out of the majority that had their lips on Donnie's ass and this proves what exactly? That Sinema and Manchin were under similar political pressure? You can't seriously believe that.

Trump made his party fall in line, we don't need FDR level of objectivity in both houses.

Like they give a shit if they are attacked.

I guess we'll never find out

Nope, did not forget that. I'm not the one that ran on "compromise & reaching across the aisle". So how 'bout doing some of that huh? Do you know how easy it is to sell cons on shit like civil asset forfeiture reform? Police union busting? Hell, you may even sell them on redoing qualified immunity if worded right. Weird how cons got all sorts of concessions on a 63 yea vote for debt ceiling raise.

The pearl clutching is on failing w/o even trying...and no, introducing bills isn't trying. Plus I didn't get that from the exert I quoted:

And one thing none of these progs and you understand is that the greatest benefit of having a generic Dem in the WH is that you don't have to worry about a MAGAtard President doing stupid things. Politics is mostly about defense which the Republicans understand, you pass the big bills when there is crisis and momentum. Democrats keep losing because they only vote during crisis, so they will vote for Cornel West or not vote at all and then watch the courts become permanently red and then bitch and whine and go to vote. By then its already too late.

As these things go, Cornell (I watched an interview)... is kind of a closet Trumpy.
He'd deny that of course, but 70% of what he rambled on about was pure Trump.

As always, politics aside.... that would seem to indicate to me at least... more affirmation of what I have said all along... Trump didn't win on being Trump... he won on people being sick and tired of what is really going on in this country.

Another group Dr West should reach out to.Dr West wouldn't stab them in back like Joe The Snake Biden did.

“President Biden is expected to be endorsed by the AFL-CIO this week ahead of a Saturday union rally in Philadelphia, according to people familiar with the process, marking the earliest presidential endorsement in the labor federation’s history as the two major parties battle over working-class voters,” the Wall Street Journal reports.

“The AFL-CIO, which includes 60 unions representing more than 12.5 million workers across a host of industries and the public sector, has long supported Democratic presidents and presidential nominees. While its support of Biden has been widely anticipated, the endorsement will land more than 16 months before the 2024 election, and at the start of the Republican presidential primaries.”

Are you even following the point I am making?

Why is the Dem agenda in Senate held up? Because of two Senators who won't budge.

Trump had the same problem and no amount of 'fighting' or 'attacking' helped. Why do you think it would work on these guys?

Trump made his party fall in line, we don't need FDR level of objectivity in both houses.

Nonsense, he couldn't even get money for his wall.

But this is all for Congress to do, where is Bernie Sanders and Sherrod Brown on all of this?

House Democrats passed a lot of bills that died in the Senate, which is exactly what happened in the Obama era.
