Corn Crash!

Quote from ProfLogic:

I told someone the other day I had made 6 figures so far this year in December 2010 eCorn and they looked at me like I was a loon. They said, "How can you make money on something that hasn't even been planted yet?" I just smiled and changed the subject.

:)

For real, why do you enter trades so far ahead? I just watched ZCZ10 against other ZC months of 2008 and 2009 and I don't have a clue of any spread/relative value play here or any advantage to trade ZCZ10 for outrights...

Thanks .

I don't spread, I trade outright.

Quote from ProfLogic:

I trade each month, as with all ag commodities, as separate entities. I Intraday some, Swing Trade some and Position trade others.

Currently there are 71 tradeable months in the eGrains

Out of those 71 tradeable months, how many would you consider liquid enough for intraday trading?

thanks in advance

Agreed! good trade simpelton. I am flat right now, i want to put on some mar/jul 09 wheat

I started trading Wheat from the long side 4 days ago, but I reckoned it wasn't controversial enough to start a new thread.

22 of them can be Intraday traded, not counting the others I listed but I prefer Swing and Position trading them.

Which month?

Quote from simpleton:

I just look for the one with the bigest open interest and highest daily volumes.

In that case shouldn't you be trading December 08? It's been the most active for a while now.

You're right now that I look at it again. Not sure what happened but when I started to short corn I just looked up the contracts on my bloomberg.

Im looking at a corn chart and technically it is looking good, not overbought, stochs or rsi. Bollingers look good. When you guys trade thesse markets technically what do you use? (im newer to TA)
