Cooltraderdude's TopstepTrader Combine (daily trade report and journal)

Mav, yes you can place bids and offers on the DOM in sim mode on T4. The functionality is exactly the same as being live and the fills are pretty realistic as well. There's plenty of times where I've offered a 5 lot on the SIM and it only fills 2 if that price level was barely touched.

Well I can't... Why...?

Also can you tell me how to place a take profit order on a short sell on E6 at 1.3010?

Sold 2 lots @ 1.3051.... Position trade taken on the break... Trying to hold for a while...

CooltraderDude... make sure you protect yourself with stops whenever you have an open position. Any news can come out and destroy your day/week/month or account. I have experienced this early in my career as well as many many other traders. Safety first.

I have no clue why you can't. All that I have to do is left click on the bid price where I want to put an order and it goes in.

Well you're really lucky because my version doesn't work like that at all...

Michael... Any ideas why...?

I have a stop at 1.3090 (buy limit stop)... Or at least what I think is a stop... Guess I'll find out if the market trades there...

Cool I just placed a limit order in and had no problem. Let me know if you can place this. You are short 2 and have a stop above. So you look good there.

We have a scout desk number at 312.252.9858, call that line if you are still having issues.

Yeah and I know what an interest rate swap is. LOL. And how to use software. And when to roll to the next futures contract. And.....you get the idea. :)

ROFL, cooltrader reboot your computer. Then maybe reinstall the software, you don't want to trade a locked platform. If you end up on the wrong side of a trend you are dead.

Wheres that eating popcorn emoticon?

I can see this becoming like the sequence in "Reminiscences of a stock operator" where the whole office loses money trying to "win" that fur coat via stock trading.

This could be a good start point to build a FAQ or list of skills one should acquire before trading live or using one of those 10 combine days. Basics like platform and product.

Baggerlord, I took a lot of heat on here because I was advising against guys funding their own futures accounts with 5k because this is EXACTLY what I said would happen. All these ET'ers think it's easy making billions trading when in reality, it's not even easy learning how to use basic software. Why should a guy use real money while he can't even execute orders on a DOM. I've seen guys lose 5k to 10k just learning all the basics of futures 101. That is senseless to me. If you have not traded futures before you need to learn how to roll contracts, you need to learn when to trade, you need to learn what news affects which commodities, etc. Why blow 10k, 20, or 30k just to learn that shit? This is what the sim is for. I don't know why guys don't get that.

And don't even get me started on not having a trading plan.

baggerlord- We have a two week trial that helps spin you up on everything as you will have access to the squawk broadcast and interactive chat room which has trading classes each day from 11am to noon CST.

But yes the Combine is also used by many (not talking about this situation) to get used to the live markets by having you feel accountability and the pressure of managing risk BEFORE ever putting your real money in the markets while also discovering those that are ready for funding....
