Constitutional Crisis: Colorado Dems Pass Bill To Eliminate Electoral College

Also when do they cast their electoral votes then? DO they wait until midnight when all the polls close nationwide so they can tune in to CNN and Fox and see who has more popular votes and the election is probably already decided anyway just to symbolically throw their electoral votes at a winner or loser for nothing?

The constitution sets forth when the Electoral College meets for the electoral college representatives to cast their votes. Its about six weeks after the november vote as I recall.

And they dont actually meet together. It's more like they all agree to meet and do their thing in their respective states on that day and then their certified results are sent to Congress or something like that. It's complicated.

All the more reason to strictly enforce voter ID laws. I'm sure that all "reasonable" leftists would agree considering their postion on the sanctity of vote.

My point is that by midnight on Election Day when the popular vote is finally tallied, Colorado's electoral votes will mean shit.

Yeh well, that's what those who want to change the law want because that is how it wouold play out, subject to a constitutional challenge. A shit-for-brains plan will lead to shit results.

I'm not sure that's legal? I understand each state has some control over its voting system, and presently Colorado swings Left. However if Colorado Citizens voted for Candidate "A", how could the state give its EC vote to Candidate "B".

If a state legislature passes something and the governor signs it, it is legal. At least until someone asks the SCOTUS to rule on it. But the Law of Unintended Consequences has a way of biting people in the ass. Just ask Harry Reid.

You did not just ask that, did you?
