Consistently Profitable Day Traders

Quote from EricP:

Anyway, this is why you will not find any daytraders managing $1B+ in the U.S. stock market.

What about $1B daytraders trading fx, do you know any?
Impressive performance, Eric. Way better in terms of risk-adjusted returns than Tudor, Simons and other highly diversified managers.

I started in 2000 with $8,000 in debt (not from trading) at a prop firm that took traders with no money.

2001 I made 90k.

02 to 03 130k. Half of 03 to 04 50k.

(I can count the number of down months on one hand)

From Aug of 03 until now I have taken some time off to start a mortgage company in order to profit from the real estate boom and flip houses.

Since I had no money to start trading with, my commission where high 1.25 cents to 1.5 cents per share. I also had to give 25% of my profits to the prop firm. My day trading income was after commissions and split.... I traded 50 to 100k shares a day so I would have made much more with today's commission rates (my income would have doubled).

Now that my business is set up and I have some one in place to manage the day to day details I plan to start day trading again (among other things). Why? Because I KNOW the potential.

Yes many fail, the same can be said for any business venture. But I KNOW what the potential is............

Seems like it might be possible, but I'm not familiar enough with forex to say. I, personally, don't know of any forex daytraders managing $1B+, although I'm not saying that there aren't any. I still suspect that anyone managing $1B+, in any markets, will almost certainly be longer term than daytrading (i.e. average trade length longer than one day).

Right and your name is ?????????

Please give me a break I'm not talking about a few schmucks that make 3-5 million any moron can do that if they apply themselves.

I'm talking REAL money 100 M - 500 M over 5-10 years.

If your in that catagory well then I do sound stupid if not I rest my case.

So have you made 100M - 500M, or have you just "chosen" not to apply yourself?

So then you just haven't applied yourself, right? Because you made it clear that if you wanted to make 100M - 500M, you could. Just like that. In fact, "any moron" could, simply by applying him or herself.

Whoa there. Samson clearly said that morons can only make 3-5 million by applying themselves. :D

My mistake. But now we know that Samson has made multiple millions, although by his own admission he hasn't made any "real" money.

Real Money is a matter of perception.

Buffett, Soros, Tudor = Real Money to me.

I've said all I have to say on this topic!

Good trading to all!
