Coming to terms with my feelings. Long, sorry.

this is a good thread, with good responses.

Now we need someone out there to unify us.

What is it going to take for everyone to get along? Or perhaps we don't have to get along with each other but make the "thing of ours" (our country) work.

That's all that is missing. A leader.

---------------------

what's missing Imo is some great project or a few common goals to improve everyone's life.

We had the space race, we had the WPA where many wonderful projects were buillt for the use of everyone. We built canals and railroads, etc. (A few examples)

What's new and exciting we as a country are working on to unite the country?

Nothing.

I appreciate your non-confrontational attitude and your posts but the truth is that I don't want to unify with the left.

when you type things like that do you picture yourself wearing a silk scarf around your neck, sitting on a throne and giving a dismissive wave of your little hand? I do...

I understand.

I'm conservative. My b-in-law and wife are liberals, {I'm glad they recently moved far away). I would listen to their ideas, etc and I'd just shake my head, we are never going to find common ground BUT if they mow their lawn and go to work everyday, leave me alone, they could be my neighbors with no problem. Otherwise, we have nothing to talk about.

I remember he had some parties, all those democrats sitting around the pool and I'd walk over and say something good about Bush, gesus crist they would get so riled up I could walk away and hear them screaming at each other how bad he was. f'n a was that funny.

I'm about to marry a liberal woman. Most of my family is liberal (all except my dad). My best friend is a liberal.

I would mention Bush once in awhile at family dinners just to set them all off. :)

I'm going to prove that I'm the only one with any correct ideas by putting all posters on ignore.

(sound of whining baby...wha...wha...wha..I don't like what y'all say...wha...wha...wha...)

LMAO

You poor bastard. :D

I got married at 18 and divorced a few years later. The whole remainder of my adult life I've never dated a conservative woman. I mean, I would date them if I could find them but I never encountered them. Where are all of these good looking republican women?

Its not too late for me to pull a runner. :D
