Comey: I took it as an order when Trump told me to drop Flynn investigation

Legal ramifications

Partly at issue is whether Trump's comments to Comey represent obstruction of justice. Any such charge would rest heavily on the exact wording of Trump's comment, according to Columbia University law professor John Coffee.

Even if Trump's comments cross a legal line, it's unlikely such a charge could be brought against a sitting president, he said.

"It's generally believed that you cannot indict a sitting president, because that would paralyze the government," said Coffee. "And because impeachment is the constitutional procedure created to remove a president."

Coffee said an obstruction charge is also unlikely from the current Justice Department.

"Any U.S. attorney who brings an indictment can be overruled by the attorney general — even if the case is meritorious," he said.

You may want to read this - this is about impeachment and not just that Trump may see inside of a jail cell over this

it would be stupid for democrats in front of 2020 because it would help get out the vote for trump.

Not a concern. There wont be much of a Trump vote in 2020

Poll: Trump's approval rating dips to 34%
By Pete Grieve, CNN

Updated 1:53 AM ET, Thu June 8, 2017

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump's approval rating is at 34%, a new Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday finds, a slight dip from the last time the university surveyed the President's popularity.

Fifty-seven percent of surveyed voters said they do not approve of the job the President is doing in office. When Quinnipiac University polled Trump's popularity in mid-May, 37% approved compared to 55% who disapproved.

Wednesday's survey marks a new low for Trump's approval rating in Quinnipiac's polling -- his previous low was 35% in an April 4 edition of the poll.

your link is irrelevant to the obstruction of justice question.

impeachment is completely different and not going to happen why republicans are in charge and it would be stupid for democrats in front of 2020 because it would help get out the vote for trump.

Impeachment doesn't have the same standard as the legal standard when it comes to obstruction

So when did Comey and the FBI drop the investigation? This headline seems pretty ridiculous for someone who doesnt consider themself to be a partisan hack.

Impeachment has a large element of politics involved. The Republicans won't convict the President for anything he has done so far. Obstruction of Justice will be one of several articles of impeachment, i.e., high crimes and misdemeanors. Mueller will follow the money, just as DOJ attorney Bharara was doing before he was fired, to find out why Trump has been so obsequious toward the Russians. Rest assured there is a reason!* It is almost certainly a financial/real estate reason. Once this other shoe drops it will be curtains for dear Mr. Trump, our asshole President. Even a Republican Congress will impeach and convict once all the pieces of the puzzle are in place. As I said this is just the beginning of the Second Act. Those other puzzle pieces have just been hinted at in the First Act. They will be fully revealed late in Act Two. Possibly by late summer 2018. And won't that make for fine Television entertainment.

*It is virtually certain that Trump has done something illegal under U.S. Law involving finance or a real estate transaction involving Russian money and that there is a connection between this transaction and the election hacking. Once that connection is made Trump is as good as gone. I wouldn't give you 2 cents for his chances of survival. Putin is setting him up. It is lovely to see, as there can not be anyone in the world more deserving than Trump.

Really? its "Virtually certain? is it 100%, or just like 25%? What are you basing that assumption on. This is the kind of statement that i would have heard from a truther, or a birther in previous administrations. You are saying it is virtually certain when you have zero evidence,Your just letting your partisanship cloud your judgement.

Is this like the people who think it is "virtually certain" Trump will be impeached? They are literally buying that bet up so much its now only paying 2-1 what kind of donkey would bet a president is going to get impeached on 2-1 odds when its incredibly rare? The liberal media is setting these people up for disaster the gambling houses are going to kill it on that trade.

There are liberals who have driven the spread up so high, that they think the odds of Trump RESIGNING is 35%. In what world would you have to live in to think a narcissist like Trump would ever resign from being the most powerful person in the world. Its retarded, wish i could be a market maker on some of these trades, 3-1 on trump RESIGNING is just fucking ridiculous, but liberals seem to be sold on stupid ideas like this.

It would be a terrible idea to bet on what you are saying is "Certain" at this point.
