We are two separate countries now. The only thing we have in common is a common language and that is eroding by the day.

Colbert's conduct is so clearly reprehensible that everyone in politics and media should be savaging him today. The mainstream media are studiously ignoring it, as they know it was far beyond the pale, but they also like the idea of moving the lines of what is acceptable. They have already basically endorsed the idea that it is ok to physically attack Trump supporters. They are only concerned about respect for the office of the presidency when a democrat occupies it.

I used to like Colbert's character at Comedy Central. Nauseating nowadays.

Just about every entertainer ends up jumping the shark in a desperate attempt to stay relevant. Carson was the last of the true late night entertainers. Now days most of his show would be considered hate speech. Of course JFK saying ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country would be considered racist, bigoted and insensitive. Country has gone to hell.
