CNN sues President Trump and top White House aides for barring Jim Acosta

Trump wins in the long run even if he loses this round.
It is conceivable that some court could enforce the old notice and publication and due process requirements routine whereby a party needs to have had reasonable and documented notice of what the the rules of the road were before being sanctioned for a violation.
That would be awesome though. Acosta can't follow any reasonable rules so that would all accrue to the President's favor over time. A rule requiring participating "journalists" to discontinue questioning and yield the mike when the President or Press Officer has clearly recognized another participant and asked the previous one to stand down, is not a rule that the court will disallow- only that they might- note "might"- require that it be documented and made known. Acosta violates that frigging rule five times a day. That would work against him.
Trump doesn't help though because he likes to rumble. Other presidents and press secretaries have handled this by just not calling on people who have been bad and freezing them out, and that will always remain an option even if Acosta wins some temporary relief, unless you think the courts are going to get into the business of telling presidents who they have to recognize at press conferences. Ahhh..I don't think so.

How about a simple White House press corp rule for reporters - Thou shall not behave like an ass.
Acosta would last under 20 seconds.
That may be what this suit is about.
So what is CNN saying, anyone who claims to be a "journalist" should have access to presidential press conferences? Can't imagine what could possibly go wrong under those circumstances.
Well in this case.... anyone could claim they're a reporter and have the right to a WH press pass. Even low viewership "news" outlets such as CNN.
Yup. That could be good.
Or a rule that says: The President shall have within his discretion the power to exclude representatives of any organization which he may have previously designated as "Fake News."
Further, the President shall- at his sole discretion- have the authority to exclude representatives of any news organizations that function solely as a PAC for the Democratic Party or which may have previously hosted or sponsored gay-type dancing with previous presidents.
Would need a president who didn't behave like an ass to give it any credibility as a rule.
Trump's authority to be an ass in public and Ass-in-Chief comes from the Constitution, including Article 2 and the Electoral College.
CNN - in turn- has the authority to ask Trump to leave when he is over at CNN, which is - like what?- not much these days, eh?
