CNN: Confederates were terrorists

Quote from RangeBar:

If you like, we can compare KKK members who were ONCE Democrats but became Republcians in the late 50's and after passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Once again, if you knew anything about history, you would know that this period, and the attempt to end discrimination is what turned the South from STRONGLY Democrat to oppressively Republican. You don't have to scratch any conservative or Republican too deeply to reveal a racist/sexist/homophob/xenophobe/sectarian individual.

Sen. Byrd has more than atoned for his youthful ignorance by supporting ALL civil rights including women, minorities, and gays. He has also been a strong supporter of protections/opportunities for the working class.

Robert Byrd has nothing to be ashamed about !!

whats your post got to do with history. it is very misleading

it was the republicans who passed the civil rights act. and I found this quote on a news max site. It was republicans who help women gain the right to vote.

It was ronald reagan who helped free eastern europeans form communist oppression.

What the heck limp wristed democrats done ....

I will tell you.

from newsmax.

the record shows that since 1933 Republicans had a more positive record on civil rights than the Democrats.

In the 26 major civil rights votes after 1933, a majority of Democrats opposed civil rights legislation in over 80 percent of the votes. By contrast, the Republican majority favored civil rights in over 96 percent of the votes.

Quote from Index piker:

Well come and get it if it bothers you so much optional.

Why don't you tell him your name and where you live so he can come and take it from ya piker dude, or are you all talk. I wouldn't fuck with optional.

That quite frankly could pose a legal problem for myself, if someone were to try something stupid.

Everybody, anybody who has studied the Civil War KNOWS that Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclaimation in order to shore up support for the war. Until that time we (America) had been fighting with one hand tied behind our back and Gen. McClellan riding on it.

Who cares? Who thinks Lincoln, or even 98% of any population is able to extracate themselves from their behavioral and genetic dispositions!?!?! Not to mention, HE had to work on getting re-elected.

No man, not Lincoln, not Washington, not Jesus and not even myself are PERFECT. We all have baggage that we carry thru life. It is YOUR ability to dispose of your baggage that makes you 'great' or 'average'. Lincoln definitely rose above his prejudices.

Lincoln using emancipation to build war support only demonstrates further he wasn't such a friend to blacks, and it didn't free them in border states like Kentucky.

Lincoln didn't rise above anything, AS ANYBODY KNOWS it was very common at the time to oppose slavery. Lincoln held his views that blacks should be deported right to the end of his life, and you call that rising above? Your portrayal is not only biased tripe, it's almost factually inaccurate. Obama's tribute to Lincoln shows his ignorance.

President Obama is a moderate. He has insight to the plights and views of far more people than most of us ever will. Keep dissing him: it only helps to make him look more wise. I'm not even going to dwell on the things that he has accomplished in a very short time: those actions will be evident in time. The fact is, he has kept this gov't/country going with hardly a burp and he will be re-elected by a very wide margin.

The only thing with his name on it is stimulus, bailout was Bush.
If you think spending a 0.75 trillion dollars on the credit card is genius, and a couple trillion of new debt is 'hardly a burp', then you are a moron.

So you're afraid of lard ass know-it-all drunks?

And I thought our Canadian friend Gabby was the biggest puss on ET.

Quote from AAAintheBeltway:

I know you're just trying to foment hate, but you unintentionally are demonstrating why secession was a good idea then and a better one now.
Agreed

Which would make all liberals and democrats Caucasian hating/cross dressing/penis sucking butt pirate/xenophile/cosmopolitan sheepeople?

Quote from jem:

In my opinion only assholes would call confederate soldiers terrorists.
Ignorant haughty assholes...
Quote from OPTIONAL777:

The confederacy was a blight on the great United States of America, and should be denounced at every turn.
Sounds a lot like California and Detroit today.

... Davis was a criminal, disloyal to the flag...
You mean just like King Hussein Obama?

No I was just screwing with indexpecker, he has a constant diarrhea of the mouth. I know nothing about optional or who is the biggest puss or toughest dude. And I don't won't to find out either.

Quote from OPTIONAL777:

You mean we should just accept that the southerners are proud, stubborn, ignorant, sore losers, emotionally stunted and uncultured, that we should just leave them alone...

That would be fine if they didn't have such a strong impact on our political system of government, voting not with their minds but with a flag of Dixie on their wall and a KKK hood in the closet...

Are you 12? This is pure cartoonish fantasy nonsense.

Go and read the history of RE Lee. He was asked to lead the Union armies and declined. Instead he led the armies of VA against the north out of a sense of duty to protect his homeland of Virginia against the northern agressors. He regretted this duty, but felt honor bound to lead the south.

Buchanon's description is definitely slanted, but is bullseye accurate when compared to your nonsense.

Slavery was relatively low on the list of disagreements that resulted in secession. Slavery was made a major press issue later to publicly gain the moral highground. This lie is still unfortunately repeated by the uneducated and the intellectually lazy.

How many non slave states fought on the side of the Confederacy?

Coincidence?

Hardly...

The slave states of the confederacy viewed slaves as their personal property, and the current Dixie lovers want to make it appear as if their illegal actions and rebellious Confederacy and subsequent war was fought on the basis of principals of states rights and the Constitution of the United States of America...

Bullshit...

It was fought because the south did not want to give up what they thought was their God given right to own human beings as property...and these primitives resented the Union and the progressive states from forcing the south into civilization...

They are still resisting civilization to this day, and remain booger eating uneducated self absorbed miscreant degenerates...

Scum...
