The funny part is that nearly the entire comments thread for the Tweet is about Conservative Party Leader Eric O'Toole facing a leadership no confidence vote and probably loosing his job for this white supremacist trucker fiasco.
I don't follow the news about Liberals or the Conservatives that much but I do know there's been a lot of talk about Eric O'Toole prior to the mandates. It was all about "facing a leadership no confidence vote".
- Yet, to be fair...other parties in Canada have a leadership problem too.
Regardless, the United States will never remove their border entry vaccine requirements nor do the same for Airlines travel restrictions...
It's the reason why many of the +90% Canadian truckers strongly believe the Freedom Convoy is misguided or being used as a puppet for others along with the fact there was not an organized Freedom Convoy from the U.S. side of the border to occur at the same time...
Defeating the objective on the Canadian side before the protest/convoy got started.
Other than that, mainly peaceful...a lot of people outside getting fresh air and Canada is OK with getting by with about +80% of the truckers doing the work elsewhere in the country. Yet, there's a trucking company near the city in my area...
They now have "Hiring Signs" that I didn't see three weeks ago. Thus, I don't want to see any of the truckers lose their jobs over this misguided protest that needed the other side of the border to do the same at the same time for a stronger statement.
Until then, I'm sure people of Ottawa are
wearing their earplugs at night to get a good night of sleep. I will be curious to see if the protesters and truckers will remain when the infamous winter storms arrive now that we're in February prior to the temperatures begin warming up going into March.
It's a good time for the protesters to learn how to build Igloos.
