I guess they may justify it for equity contracts by the growth of the notional values per contract. Wonder what happens if the markets crash and values go way down - will they reduce fees?

Boat harbor docking fees went up...some of the CME folks have boats in the harbor.

Simply, they're passing the fees down to the little guy.

Most of the fee increases aren't that bad, but....
Non-member Micro FX fees go from $0.16 to $0.24, a 50% increase.
