CL Redux

Man, it is really volatile now isn't it? You'd think some major economic news was about to come out any second.

BTW does anyone know if one can access the VIX through Zen-Fire feed in NinjaTrader?
 
this is just pure nuts. even tho i shoulda made at least 2x what i've made so far, i'll take it. the volatility is just crazy.

add: i'm not even looking at 5 min chart anymore. mainly trading off of 3 min, 1 min and 233 tick charts.
 
Been breaking even the last few days. Would did myself into a hole losing $ 200 - $ 400, then dig myself out. Was down around $ 170 today, but finally turned that into a winning $ 147.

It seems lately my 1st trades of the day suck. Don't know if I am not patient, or not waiting for a good setup. Been trading ES, TF, and CL.

For my last trade of the day was watching ES, it was moving sideways between 35 and 40, with no clear direction if it wanted to break out to the top or break back down. At this point CL was near a small resistance.

I saw ES finally decide to break down, and took a CL scalp short to make some profit after I got a confirmation signal on that chart since I did not want to chase ES.

I guess I could have also shorted ES near the resistance and got out if resistance broke. I was actually trying to get short TF as ES was going down a little, but TF moved to fast and could not get filled.

I have to say I do feel bad on losing days, and better on winning days. Hope you guys did good.
 
I know this is a nice pennant about to break out to the upside probably, and should continue higher, but there has been very little volume support for bulls today period, so I question the strength of this. Looks ready for a nice fall back to 80.50 to me.

I'm with you JD in the sense that it's really in a tight range and very choppy and volatile and who knows where it's headed this last 45 mins.? One can guess one way or the other but who knows?

Exactly DC. It has been hard trading because of the volatility. I've let a few trades go against me quite a bit more than I would due to this but was taking a big chance in doing that. Tight stops today get you continually stopped out.

$9k day, v nice. I haven't traded CL for some days now, preferring to trade the stock index futures (ES and DAX). +300 pts on the DAX today :D
