How many points do you guys make per contract on a day like today?

I'm up 187 today in sim for 1 contract & all done for the day.

Is that comparable to what you guys do on this type of day..........just wondering if it's fair, good, or really good.

Here's a 10-day average of volume per each 5 minute bar I've been tracking lately if anyone is interested. I was just doing it to see if anything interesting popped out. 1 to 1:40 is the dead zone. That's good to know; chop kills.

Sounds great to me. I'm up 175 ticks today but haven't been trading all day and I did trade 3 contract earlier for the biggest part of that profit.

Sounds great to me. I actually wound up down on the day. That many on one contract is actually fantastic. Where was the bulk of that made mac, or was it spread pretty evenly? EDIT: and, how many trades did you take?

Ok guys, I posted this earlier today. How much easier the day would have been had I simply left that trade on and walked away (though it was a sim trade). My premise was correct, I would have avoided the chop, and been a happy camper.

Not only was I wrong about this being weak, but it was a full 100% measured move, with no pullback to the breakout point even.

Isn't that the way it is most days? This is one of the reasons I've let trades run more lately. Hard to trade the volatility. Of course in letting trades go against you you're taking on much more risk. It can be and is hard to trade this. The market is soooooo charged.

Well at least I can keep up with you for 1 day............with fake money. :)

I'll try this live once I can go an entire week following my plan & trading with discipline.

I have this gambling mentality or lack of discipline or brain fog or whatever you want to call it that just creeps up every few days. I have to get over that; then I'm good to go. I've just about conquered it.

I traded from 10:09 to 2:05. I guess it was spread pretty evenly.

Caught 50 ticks on my last trade buying at 1:58 & selling at 2:05.

Got 30 ticks buying at 1:41 & selling at 1:48.

Got 41 ticks shorting at 10:43 & covering at 10:45.
(missed a big drop on that one)

Nothing else really stands out.
