CL Redux

Quote from NoDoji:

Something I've noticed is that once a trend reversal signal is put in (which you took advantage of on the double-top) and a 5-min bar closes below the 20-bar EMA (10:05am bar), expect an overshoot of the lower Keltner (dev 1.0) band.

Only one CL trade today after the inventories (POT was trading so clean this morning that I just had to smoke it).

My trade was based on the above price action. After a lower high was put in by way of the 10:40-10:45am bars, I watched the price action around the 20 EMA. The 11:05am bar closed below the 20-bar EMA after a failure to thrive there. I shorted @ 72.41 as soon as that bar closed and I targeted 3 ticks above the previous pivot low of 71.84 (which would also be a lower Keltner overshoot zone). Stop was @ 72.57. Trading 1 lot it was very painful to sit through the small retrace coming close to my stop (which I had moved to b/e). As price approached my target I realized that the lower high would likely mean a lower low, but my target was lifted before I moved it, which was quite sad.

Got to leave now for a rehearsal. Good trading to all.

I also decided to take a leave of absence from CL to return to what I know best: ES. Now that the volatility is back, I can finally trade this damn thing again. So far, she's been courting me pretty well. We'll see if she's willing to go further.

Hey Mr. Butler, get me a new bed linen!

So then I gather it is more a question of reliability for you, since CL is still far more volatile than ES. Provided, of course, that there is acceptable volatility in the market you consider more reliable for your purposes. How does the reliability of your setups for ES compare to that of CL?
