CL Redux

yes, stubborn, I saw 85, but the market just keep teasing me out. still did not follow my plan, leave massive profit on the table. as a new bie, the only to trade is find a good spot and stay there, not flip short flip long, always get whipsawed, very frustrated.

after I got out, I bought natural gas, that thing gave me nice return too. I get to learn patience to wait for the entry. the morning dip really makes me nervous. I will not do that again, that is not professional even I made decent money on this rogue trading style.

being tough! tough and tough

The problem with the morning dip was it made a new low but by less than .10 so it was accumulation

Nevertheless, you are now able to ka-ching your way to the bank. I'm JEALOUS. :D

As for me, I think I made little of every newbie mistake you mentioned. Luckily, I end the day with a little profit. We'll call it a beer money.

I think your letting your short bias get in the way.

This might sound like I'm rationalizing, which I am, but I wasn't feeling all that bearish for the day. Nor was I particularly bullish. All I knew was that it would go one way or the other. Hence the reason for many break even trades. Here's what I wrote earlier today.

Well, I ain't sure myself but it will move pretty explosively in one direction or another. I don't think we'll trade flat today.

I noticed yesterday that you said you were thinking that the market might run higher.
Just trying to help ya out. Not trying to give you a hard time

No, I couldn't NOT trade for an entire day.

I returned a while ago and observed an interesting breakout pattern with a certain number of bars followed by a pullback. I got a wild hair and traded it just to see if it would work again, shorting 85.07, pullback from the 3rd bar up, targeting 84.81 (talk about a near miss).

Do any of you counter-trend trade off bar counts? Today it really repeated consistently, 3 up bars starting with the breakout bar, followed by about a 30-tick pullback.

EDIT: I see I misnamed my attachment ES instead of CL. Pay no attention to the name...
