Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Quote from Ivanovich:

"A stop loss is meant to be hit. Do not remove your stop loss."

It's so hard following this rule when you see the train coming along headed right for it.

All you do is sit there and cringe with your stomach in a knot, saying "be merciful, God!"

Yes, especially when the train keeps coming in hard, takes you out and then starts reversing!

Tonight the USDJPY will be more interesting than the EURUSD, but will probably move the EURUSD easily. The EURJPY is still in some sort of "twilight zone".

Quote from chinook:

Well if this thing spikes up from the 1.33 again, I'll perform harakiri on myself :)

Careful with that short sword, because the USDJPY is trading quite calmly - while the ugly deep-water fish with the small light-pendulum/-antenna are pushing the little €-fish lower.

They're drawing big lies in the orderbooks IMO.

They filled up the bid now! its about 800/400 bid/ask. Multiple 300+ levels on the bid side. I should start completely ignoring the book.

Gringinho, or is it you flashing these 300+ lot orders like a strobe-light :)

I'm finally riding the short but the inital damage was bigger than comfortable level while trying to short this thing.

Edit: It looks like I don't need to perform harakiri today. Although it's still early!

Ignore the book!

It became a bad habit for me, although it's not useful for my style of trading. Early summer, the ratio of bids/asks was an OK sign of short-term direction.

Thanks...it will be a wonderful day for me when my account gets large enough to justify a Bloomberg or Reuters subscription. Anyone ever tried Market News International www.marketnews.com ? I read a post recently by someone that uses it for economic releases even though they have Bloomberg.

Cheers,

TRADERguy

I signed up for a free trial and will let all of you know how it goes. Haven't figured out how much it costs yet but I'm sure a salesperson will call soon.

Cheers,

TRADERguy

Have you tried http://needtoknownews.com/. It is audio, so it tells you the numbers when they get out. There is also a free trial for this service. You could test it and let us know if it is any good for forex. :)

(Friday NFP, so that should give you some information on how fast they are.)
