Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Quote from Gringinho:

Small stops reported around 1.2580 now by Thomson. They also report that significant selling out of Dublin in the mid 1.2620s made little impact. Offers through the 1.2650 level and stops above. Wonder if those offers might retreat somewhat if we pass 1.2640 again - with some conviction.

I can't seem to stay away, but at least I'm not in a trade - for real money - just the short on spot fx demo from 1.2613 ... So still roughly -2 for now.
:)

I smell some addiction here :) I have the same bug too!

I couldn't resist and shorted around 1.2628 area. That one got busted with 4-5 ticks. I put a second short from the same level. I have an urge to bag this trade and carry it overnight. I'll see how things go towards the Globex halt.

Yup, addict allright.
I continue to knock myself on the head for the stupid trading this morning; waking up with my 2 1/2 year old son - playing a little, then barely able to watch what's happening starting to trade after a brief look at charts.

As you can probably guess I'm not a good trend-trader. Since I started FX, it has been several - fairly broad - ranges. I prefer it that way, and when I smell some big trends I keep my feet out of the big wigs' hair.
Not today though, and I could easily have given back a lot, as I got into it with too big size. So I hope we give back a little to get me feeling a bit more secure in my trades.

However, the "breakout" lately probably has been getting more attention and corporate players as being speculated. This could have a self-confirming effect where more talk about a trend underway - get's the trend underway. The fairly good US numbers today showed that ... Tough markets.

:)

edit: If just my EuroFX trading was as careless as my demo spot FX trading .. showing 150k now - up from 50k in a couple of weeks. Unrealistically leveraged trades though sometimes ... old habits die hard.

Where did you get this info? It's not showing up in my calenders.

Edit: I found it! Thanks for the reminder. There were 3-4 other Feds speaking today.

I find that the economic calendar from KBC Bank has everything I need. The link is on fxstreet.com.
