Cashless economy?

You are definitely not the smartest cookie in the room. I stated now three times that yes, income taxes in the HIGHEST bracket are above 50% including municipal taxes. I never contended that. But it's not the average or median income tax rate. Also I repeatedly ask you to state how you get from 50% to 75%,you never provided any specifics or factual backup.

Sorry, I don't buy your claims, all other sources I came across say otherwise. So let's agree to disagree.

ROFLMAO. You lost. Dick head. It doesn't take much to see it. I know what I am talking about because I live and breath it. How about you scumbag ?

Nice name calling both in English and Finnish. Troubled mind who can't provide any factual backup for outrageous claims resorts to screaming at others. Good luck with that in life.

You come here to criticize people by knowing a shit about the topic. Very typical dick head. This is why I use names. You deserve it. Next time keep your mouth shut up if you don't know the facts. Or at least the basics.

I don't live in Finland but I would think that property taxes and sales taxes would eat up an extra 25% easily.

Then all our taxes, regardless of Finland, Germany, US, or Canada amount to around 70% or so. If you include sales taxes, customs, pension contributions for income earners, dividend and capital gain taxes then there is not much left on the table for our toys purchases...

No. Our base rate is substantially lower than their 48% - 52% to begin with, and our sales tax of around 6% - 8 % is way lower than their 24% VAT tax on sales, so it's really not comparable at all. So I agree with TopDog. It seems like you're just arguing for the sake of arguing without having any underlying knowledge of the matter whatsoever. Sorry, but he really did smoke you on this one.

All depends what income we're talking about, top 10% earners or average earners. Then it depends which US states we're talking about, because of the great variables. California has local, state and federal taxes, in addition to a 10% sales tax. Finally, we have to determine what benefits we derive from those taxes. In the US we have a great shiny military and not much else, while in Europe you get proper infrastructures, free healthcare and education. If you were to cost that in, you may find that even crazy taxing Finland is not so bad after all.

This is correct path. When you take into account all payments additionally to the pure income tax which alone is astronomical you will reach that 74% level.

Authorities and top politicans here are not so stupid that they will publish these numbers thus is why you have to do it by yourself. Fortunately we have here some brave professionals who dare open their mouth and publish documents which will prove the situation. These publications are real and undisputed. But of course soon censored and writers banned.

I have the proof but it's in Finnish.

The point here is the system will take almost 3/4 of your salary in the different forms which are clearly tax related.

People are just slaves. They're so brainwashed that they don't see the realism anymore.

So my argument is defeated because of a 12 or 13% difference in sales tax? If that makes all the difference for you then you made a valid point. For me whether the all in taxation is 60, 70,or 75% really does not move the needle by much, especially when it comes to the hard decision whether to permanently move domicile. If I was wrong about that then why do you think the US is not full of Scandinavians or Swiss? It's because most people can look beyond the front page numbers and discern value in exchange for higher taxation. The original argument of topdog was that the system is shit because of the high tax rate. Every single of his country mates obviously disagrees otherwise they would have all left for the wonderful, opportunity laden country of the United States.
