I honestly don't like the feel of the iwb (inside the waistband) holsters - the metal on the skin, bothers me. So I do outside the waistband, which means I usually have to wear a sport coat (when I go out to dinner or evening events) or a long shirt. I leave it in the car locked up when at the beach. I suppose it's possible I could need it at the beach, but odds aren't high. Usually just things like the mall, movie theaters and other big public gatherings where some kook could lose his mind.

It is inside partitions you need to worry about, knowing which walls are solid and which may as well not be there (and your kids on the other side) is just too complicated for the average Joe when a suspected intruder is coming up the stairs.

Americans need to travel to countries that have had intense real-world threats if they want to know what works and where they are going as a nation.

. Of course part of it is down to if you have blocks, build with blocks. In the US cheap construction to maximise square footage etc. has priority it seems. My grandaunt's house in Louisiana is double cavity concrete block (solid block). After Katrina they just had to powerhose dirt and another house off it.

Mine is cinder block with brick veneer. Built back in the 70’s. The new shit with vinyl you can almost kick through it
I assume this has to do with a discussion on slug penetration. Regular practice on target shooting and breathing, using hollow points and being aware of what is beyond your target goes a long way towards avoiding hitting someone or something other than your target. A .40 caliber hollow point isn't going to penetrate a human body and then proceed on to go through walls and someone else.

Another point is in Colombia, often older middle class homes look like crap, once you go inside however.. marble floor tiles and no expense spared kitchens etc.
