I have no bitching rights here. I have always said that if the wall is not funded then he should simply place troops on the border. This will allow him to keep faith with his base, to take care of business as best he can with the worthless tits in DC he has to work with, and the troops will show both the lefties here, in Mexico, and the invaders that they must pay a price. Same with not settling on DACA. Since Trump has decided to put some of this in the hands of the military, I am quite happy about it.
In addition- I think having the military involved will help the Border Patrol to up their game in regard to surveillance capabilities and bring some state of the art technology to the scene that should be brought anyway- with or without invaders.
Let California and the Nineth Circus do whatever they need to do about troops on the border. The President has rights under the Constitution too.

O, please. Obama used the military at the border on occasion, so did Bush. What they do is use the military for paperwork and free up agents to patrol and detain at the border. It’s not going to be the martial law type of event you expect.

And quite true. It will not be the martial law event because most likely Mexico will act in its self interest and make sure that the invaders do not indirectly "negtotiate" the terms of NAFTA and DACA for them. Trump does tend to notice these little events, eh?
Good to see that you and Morning Joe and CNN will be saying that anything that Trump does there is the same as Obama did. I am guessing they will all be crying racism and working their therapy dogs pretty hard. Maybe others here can post anything they see just to keep us up to date.
What exactly do people think we have a military for, if not to protect our borders. Go to any military base and MP's are guarding access to the base. Is that a violation of someone's rights too? Sheesh...
The president clearly has authority no court can legitimately question to deploy troops to the border. Those troops certainly are not limited to paper pushing.
The most effective strategy would be to create a no go zone inside mexico, so that there would be no question of US domestic law being involved. Of course it would be preferable if mexico would start acting like a friendly country and assist us. It wouldn't be the first time we've had to send troops there because of their treachery.
