RAPA,

You should consider LMAX for foreign exchange trading since they function as an exchange and have no 'last look' feature like most forex brokers brokers

IB has limits of a few million for each currency pair to protect their liquidity providers..

We are thrilled to introduce you to a soft launch of the RAPA Cap Intro™ web portal, the culmination of a decade long dream where we match emerging trading talent with investment capital. To assist our community with assessing trader’s talent we have developed a proprietary RAPA Score™ with our team of 3 Ph.D.’s whose expertise range across: trading, investments, economics, mathematics, computer science and psychology. Using our quantitative approach for calculating a traders risk adjusted returns we are able to publish a dynamic RAPA Leaderboard™ where the best traders are able to attract the attention of the RAPA community and raise capital from our existing investor base. In designing our scoring system we have studied some of the largest CTA and hedge fund databases and together with our behavioural finance background we have incorporated some psychological and statistical scoring metrics as part of our total RAPA Score™.

Members of the community will have access to a broad suite of analytical tools to measure their individual performance or consider their relative performance via the RAPA Leaderboard™. However, RAPA Cap Intro™, is far more than a profit and loss tool for traders. In collaboration with a number of peak performance psychologists and drawing on the team’s personal trading experience we have seamlessly integrated a “thought journal” & social media profiles with the trader’s Profit and Loss database, as represented by the RAPA Wall™ profile.

In conclusion we are traders and our principals are traders with a long track record of seeding emerging manager talent, one having gone on to manage more than a $1 billion. We are open to all types of strategies and asset classes. We have launched with Interactive Brokers compatibility and will look to support other platforms (e.g. MT4) in the next few months.

We welcome all comments and ideas.

Regards

Michael

How does what you do differ from others eg Mercenary Trader?

Quote from mickson:

Yes Jack, we plan on having an Meta Trader 4 connection next, and based on demand for other brokerages we are interested to hear what the community would like.

The main thing that attracted us to IB is that the account reporting was tamper proof so we can rely on the reports generated from IB.

Very interesting.. so MT4 by any broker or will you be working with broker partners?

Actually, I have a lot of ideas around this, I'll PM you.

non aussie accounts subjected to tax with holdings?

Depends where the account is held and who the owner is. RAPA has no consequence on the tax it is what it is.

Quote from rwk:

Can RAPA download trading history, or do you only collect history going forward? If you can download history, how far back?

We do both. Typically IB provides only 365 days of history however by specific request you can get much more. Certainly the longer your performance history the clearer your trading performance ability is likely to be. That is in most cases :)

It is hard for me to comment on this as i don't know which others you are referring to but as you mention Mercenary Trader the difference I believe is they have a programme whereby they put you in touch with a capital provider with certain conditions that enable you to trade with a much larger sum of money. However the capital providers doesn't really put their money at risk as you have to wear the drawdown on inititial capital. We do not do that we will take the DD hit. The other major difference is our due diligence process. As a rule this is quite involved and I suspect quite difficult for an account with say $50k doing good performance to qualify for. We do not need audited track records other than what we display on RAPA and we are very focused on returns not so much on issues that many of the fund of fund investors focus on.

Thanks Jack we are currently doing our testing with one brokerage house using MT4 our intention is to enable it for all MT4 brokerages but we need to be sure we are not compromising the integrity of the data. We will keep you and the community posted.

Peter, all you do is push LMAX, you work for them?

I've read a few threads where people bring up valid points against LMAX and all you do is repeat their marketing points.

Shill like.
