Quote from trend2009:
My concern is that you need to have access to every trade. with exact entry and exit timing, my strategy is under threat that it will be reverse engineered. this is a concern for lots of traders, exceptionally for automatic traders like me. this reverse-engineering topic has been discussed lots of times on this board.
In fact, i think what you really need is a report of daily gain/loss. I will feel comfortable giving this number to you, instead of my exact trades.

How do you propose that we pull this report? Our biggest concern is making sure that reports are not tampered with and therefore fraudulent or misrepresenting the true performance. This is the reason we request report management rights.
Remember we are making a recommendation to investors who are relying on us to verify the returns. We simply have no other alternative the way I see it.
Quote from trend2009:
is it possible to talk with ib to ask them to provide only daily win/loss? it is a win-win situation for them too.
frankly, I am also concerned ib may decode my trades, so i sometimes insert random trades or buy and sell use different brokers. for mechanical traders, reverse-engineering is really a concern, though some people on this board do not believe the strategy could be decoded, but i have experience reverse-engineering some other's strategy who posted their trades online.
so i know the strategy could be decoded.

It is certainly worth exploring. Thanks we will give it more thought.

When or if you add staff; do consider the input trader2009 is giving you.
Also consider putting your account on the leaderboard.
I can see why your bias is to data collection and not primarily to making money. You are concerned with passing data to potential sources of capital.
What would you do if a group of traders created a gap above all other traders on your leaderboard? Eliminate the derfdom issue immediately?
