Its actually a pretty good comparison O Leary to trump, like Trump, if elected Oleary would be replacing a grossly unqualified bartender who has no business being prime minister, Obama was also grossly unqualified, and we elected someone who has actually run a bussiness, and created thousands of jobs as his replacement, so it would be a welcome change.


With that said, Oleary has no shot, I would stake someone hundred to 1 odds, it wont happen.

Liberals in Canada will see defeating Oleary as their way to vote out Trump, I guarantee if Oleary ended up leading the PC party, every single liberal group in canada will be out with long knives trying to take him down as a proxy vote against Trump in the States, so while it would be nice handing the country off to a self made billionaire who knows how to generate wealth (a quality sorely lacking in Trudeau and Obama) Its not going to happen, and I would prefer he doesnt end up leading cause it just creates a headwind twice as strong for conservatives.

O'Leary is not a billionaire. He only plays one on TV. Did you not read either of the two articles I linked? He leaves destruction in his wake, and what money he made was at the expense of others rather than actually providing value.

I wanted Thomas Mulcair to be prime minister. He was more qualified. But I voted for Trudeau because it became a 2-man race and Harper had to go. Trudeau lacked experience but his heart and head are in the right place. When Harper came into office, over 10 years ago, one of the first things he did was give tax breaks to oil companies, and took the budget surplus that Liberal Paul Martin left him and turned it into Canada's largest deficit. Trudeau's platform called for deficit spending, which made me cringe somewhat, but at least the intention is that it would be broad based. It's too soon to report on Trudeau, but he has far more supporters than detractors. He actually gives a shit and is not in it for himself - exactly unlike O'Leary, who's in it for O'Leary.
