Facts don't care about feelings on either side. Argue your case but point out and respect when the other side brings forth valid arguments and you will see how most will have the utter respect for you even if they are in the opposing camp, and idiots out themselves and they take care of outing themselves.

Treatment of First Nations people? I can tell you firsthand how they are handled with white silk gloves. It has gone complete reverse racism. As a white guy in liberal parts of BC you are the outcast nowadays. You are expected to constantly apologize for your existence and suffer exclusions when it comes to hiring for positions for which only First Nations or other minorities qualify. I can give plenty examples if interested.

These are all truths -- all proven with data from the Canadian government -- but you deny any of them while continually attacking the U.S.

I will admit that I was incorrect about the Toronto housing market -- but this happens to be the only thing I was incorrect about in regards to my posts about Canada.

Sadly there are numerous points where I agree Canada generally handles better than the U.S.. This includes immigration, pandemic response and public transit. I even agree that the U.S. should focus on providing a public option for medical care -- but should model our system more along the lines of Germany rather than Canada. Obamacare is a mess and basically a giveaway to the pharma and insurance industry.

Very simple to explain. Someone pointed out how superior Canada is because the same liberal bullshit that occurs in the US is not visible in Canada. I stated such claim is incorrect from first hand experience. I recently listened into a presentation on racism at Canadian campuses by a first nation representative. She claims that there is racism hiding in every corner because there are on average more white faculty members at Canadian universities than first nation faculty members. That, she claims, is racism. Someone pointed out to her that there is a difference in the number of white Canadian population vs first nation population. She laughed off that argument. Before her presentation all the white university leadership that was present and who gave introductions first apologized for the white crimes committed towards first nation people and how sorry they are to even be on first nation land. Of course it was all virtue signaling because they themselves did not show any intent to move back to Europe. Just talk. No action as usual. The entire presentation turned out to be a huge history lesson of how the white predators abused first nation people. The residential schools were all evil, all teachers must have been horrific human beings even though many of them volunteered in good faith to teach in remote regions. All the children who died in residential schools amounted to about 3000 out of a manifold multiple of kids who did not get sick or died and received an education that the same first nation representatives today demand should be given to first nation children with special preferential treatment.

Of course she conveniently omitted that the overall death rate in the overall population from tuberculosis and polio was almost as high as the death rate of those first nation children. She also omitted how there were not only white predatory settlers but that most first nation tribes for centuries committed some of the most atrocious and violent crimes against other tribes. It all burned down to white men bad, minorities good. The level of virtue signaling without adhering to any truths and facts is mind numbing and outright frustrating. The white guilt among many liberals in Canada is more pronounced than any I have seen in the US.

So, yes, this topic made it into the discussion, and for good reason: because it relates to the topic at hand. You have the same liberal nutcases in Canada than in the US. On the other hand, I find many conservatives made a lot of concessions. Many firearms in Canada have been banned over the years. Given this is a nation where hunting has a long standing tradition, the type of firearms, some of which do have a legitimate application in the hunting world, were banned. Did conservatives storm federal buildings in Ottawa? No. Or what about the ridiculous number of social welfare programs or the adoption program which is an utter failure in Canada, worse than in almost any western nation. Conservatives bite their tongue but still pay their tax dollars to fund this utterly ineffective social programs. If anything, liberal retardation by far exceeds the conservative one in Canada by a mile. I am white, and the type of hostility I face from first nation people is surprising, given I moved here and have never committed a crime against any of them, neither did my forefathers. If this is their definition of making peace and moving on from history then I won't oppose them, but they also won't find my support whatsoever. They have not even made clear what their end game is. They have not explicitly demanded it but at the same time not denied it that they ultimately wish there was a button that could be pushed to instantly eject every last white person from Canada. First nation receive more material, emotional, and financial support than any other group in Canada, and yet, those people can't get up and evolve just as every other minority group in Canada has. I wonder why...and yet, this is such a taboo topic that you can't bring up facts or truths in public unless you want to be lynched by white liberal extremists. Dissenting opinions are not tolerated and will be countered with outright violence, lies, and accusations. It's absolutely impossible in Canada today to have a fair and open discussion on this topic.

My point: it is factually false to claim that Canadians have a moral superiority over Americans. As always, the individual case needs to be investigated to cast judgment. But the average points to the strong possibility that there are as many nutcases in Canada as there are in the US, relatively speaking by normalizing by population count.
