A chart is basically just a represention of a series of numbers. You can convert the criteria that a "keen eye" uses to find chart patterns, into a numerical filter to find the same patterns.
true but chart patterns alone will not make you money, you have to factor in the stocks relative strength or weakness, volume strength or weakness, futures, to confirm the pattern - programming that is a little trickier
