California Will Hike Minimum Wage To $15/Hour

wait are you saying the minimum wage should be raised because we have had significant inflation?

It's the end of the world as we know it (again), it's the...

or not.

Yes, and by the time the full increase is enacted, we will begin hearing the calls for $20 and $25/hour increases. Wait for it.
Of course! But you left out 'when.' (Oh, you did say when!!! Fool!) Never say say when, if you don't want to be called a "fool".

Don't be silly!!! Have you looked at inflation between 1965 and 2016 lately? Or between 1940 and now. Either will do. You have a bad attitude, and the all seeing, all knowing God, has made note of it. You're not getting into heaven unless you change your ways.

We need a Federal minimum hike to 15 in stages and then a continuous hike to keep up with inflation, i.e., ~2%/yr forever. But it is not a good idea to have piecemeal hikes . States that have hiked will experience an economic boom, but those ridiculous Republican Governor states that are still paying 8.25-10.00/hr will remain in recession and accumulate, over time, all the least competent labor; worse, they'll continue to suck up most of our federal welfare dollars. (For god's sake! leave a little for Manhattan.) This is good for chicken and pork processors but not for the rest of us. If there was truly a free market, i.e., one where labor could walk, you wouldn't need minimums, but there isn't.

we have had 700 percent inflation since the 60s. I know it damn well.
I remember my dad's coffee being a nickel. I remember volkswagons being 2000 dollars as a kid. a few years later I remember a house in greenwich ct on 2.75 acres being 159,000 dollars in 1976.

but.... my comment was really a jab at ricter who has been downplaying the existence of inflation in support of his big govt ideas.

where did you study econ?
Soviet Russia, Red China, Cuba or more recently Venezuela?

So let me see, lets bring in millions legal immigrants and millions more to suppress wages (particularly in the tech industry). Then we we see wages being too low... lets increase the minimum wage.

Does anyone see the stupidity of having these contradictory policies on the left?

No kidding. These are the same geniuses who think rent control is a good way to deal with housing shortages.

If the minimum wage is such a great idea, why stop at $15? You can't really support a family on $15 an hour. Why not $50? $75?

Well, which is it? You claim low minimum states will get all the duds but then you claim labor is not mobile.

The evidence of tens of millions of illegals invading us would tend to suggest that low income labor is quite mobile.
