California Will Hike Minimum Wage To $15/Hour

Watching this spread from Seattle to the national level it is clear it is a Democratic priority. It is a position nationally.

Do they really believe it will help poor people? No, they know that $15.00 per hour minimum wage will perpetually keep many in the welfare class and voting democrat. It is as sick and cynical as that.

Anything to stay in power. Anything.

I can agree with Brown on this. $15 wage does not make any economic sense, but it does make moral sense.

California Gov. Jerry Brown signed legislation Monday to raise the statewide minimum wage to $15-per-hour, the highest in the U.S. While admitting a $15 minimum wage made no economic sense, he said it made “moral” sense.
Brown signed a statewide increase to $10-per-hour less than two-and-a-half years ago. and opposed a new increase to $15 until pressure from unions caused him to relent. (Union contributions to moderate Democrats also helped.)

“Economically, minimum wages may not make sense,” Brown said, according to the Sacramento Bee. But “[m]orally and socially and politically, they [minimum wages] make every sense because it binds the community together and makes sure that parents can take care of their kids in a much more satisfactory way.”

The governor made no comment on what parents who cannot find jobs are meant to do to take care of their children.

The call for a $15 minimum wage is expected to resound nationwide. Already, Democrats are making it a theme of their political campaigns. On Sunday, former president Bill Clinton praised California for enacting the measure.

The rate of the minimum wage is not destroying the economy. Technology, corporate greed, political corruption, and just some plain old stupidity are the culprits. This is a nothing issue, other than one more talking point for the never ending campaign trail.

Because they want their competition to pay it, too.

In other words, they want to base their wages on what the market is paying for an hour of labor....who knew?

You are a goddamn genius!!

Do you have any idea what wages and working conditions were like before, say, the 20th century? Look it up, genius. Oh, and that was the pay and those were the working conditions determined by "the market" at the time. Wish you were there, living the dream.
