Cabin's journal of buys, sells, and covered calls...

Quick option (covered call)...Genmab (GMAB). It's a Danish biotech company...Just 100 shares.

Sell to open Feb 24 $45. I got $1.16 ($116.00) for the option. Generate income while I wait for more trials to be complete...
You have done well deploying your covered call strategy. Based on following and reading many of your past posts you have generated for yourself a steady income stream.

My question: Your judgement is good so why not trade accordingly and go for home runs?

Too old...Too much studying involved. Example, with Apple you can see with your eyes what people are doing. Warren Buffet could see with his eyes Apple (no comparison at all with me). What he saw...Except for Dairy Queen, this list looks mighty fine to me!!

It would have to be something like software or biotech. Someone will win and someone will lose...

I would hate to have those quick stops. Being on top of a biotech company, when the next phase of a study came out...Not my style. I would rather have a biotech company with 5 trials going. If one misses, the others could keep it afloat...

Too old? The guy you quoted is 90 years old and his sidekick is approaching a hundred.

I have been around a long time too. Quit my day job years ago.

Best to you and hope you enjoy the journey because mine is a lot of fun.

A dollar to a donut ...Or a dollar, equals a BIG donut...As in big zeros!!

We have 100 shares of Blackstone (BX). I was trying to do a covered call for the Oct 24 $165...The stock hit a yearly high of $115.22. I know how they are into lending and how small and medium size companies will need to go to them for financing or mezzanine financing. The company is in big demand...Hence, yearly high.

So I am playing the game with the MMs. I drop below them...With Schwab. For about an hour, I'm trying to squeeze an extra dollar for my option. If you look at the bid/ask, I am the one ask at $2.22...The bid got to as high as $2.17.

I could have just swallowed my pride and dropped a cent or two...But NO. I'll make those MMs come to me, on my terms!! It was a day only trade.

No fill...Wait till tomorrow. I'll sure show them tomorrow!!

or not...

PS I could have picked up aluminum cans and made more than waiting on a stupid cover call!! I could have been standing in line at Wendy's for my 1 cent cheeseburger (National Cheeseburger Day), than waiting for a fill. Hopefully lesson learned...

A value trade...I have owned this ETF a couple times before. I bought 100 shares of MOO (ag ETF).

Bought it at $79.56...Then did an option (covered call) for the May 24 $82. I got $3.44 for the option ($344.). I kept going back and forth between CBOE and Fidelity's routing. I finally put it in with Fidelity at $3.40 and got the price improvement to $3.44.

This is a long term hold (unless it gets called away). We'll see on the end of year distribution...

Warning...This video is over 2 hours. It is very addicting!!

I really enjoy these guy's videos. They did many things in China, including teach.

If you are interested, you can start at about 29:30 on the video, where they are talking about Apple sales in China vs Huawei. A real eye opener...China says one thing, but then buys something else.

They rode around China on motorcycles...Filming while they went.

I think I make the right choice in owning Apple stock...

I want to give you a short feedback on your suggestion, so I compared trades with market order vs limit order.

My day trades went live since Friday. Today I tried some trades with using limit order:

Limit orders didn't always get filled, even ask + when buy and bid - when sell. Market order always got filled with the price usually better than quotes.

I will stay with market order.

Thanks for your suggestion.
