Buying calls for a living and arguing with derivman

The only thing I am going to learn from this thread is if you are a spammer or a troll.

I'm leaning towards the former but I you haven't shown your true colors yet.

I would like to wish all my fellow Elite members a nice weekend. I will review my notes and books in relation to Options and post some more interesting comments next week. Thank you all for your kind input and hopefully we will all learn from the replies. Learning can be accomplished by anyone once they put their mind to it and it is always a two way experience. Cheers.
Derivman

Sir, I wish you a happy weekend as well. I look forward to any new insights and thought-provoking questions that you may stumble upon in your studious study of options. This two-way exchange is most enlightening and gratifying.

You are not only a scholar, but a gentleman as well.

Lets say I am a new trader with $50K account. If I make 5% per month then my profit before commissions is $2,500. I do not know if you can survive on this amount but I will honestly tell you that I can not.

A new trader trying to quit his day job and make 10K a month on 50K capital. I think you're going to get on famously here at ET :D

Classic assessment. Thanks for the chortle. :D :D :D :D :D

This whole thread has, so far, been very entertaining indeed and also helped me get some great laughs. I only wish that derivman would insinuate himself into some of the other posts so we could all benefit from his astute and well researched questions :p. Personally, I can't wait for the next instalment! The only down side is that I've learnt absolutely nothing from his posts so far but as I said that's a small price to pay for the entertainment value.
What I have learnt though is that posters here are very generous with their time and tolerance of the even most tragic of noobs.
Please continue this most fine and noteworthy of exchanges, it's bound to become an ET comedy classic.

Yes, "tragic" is a good decriptor. This guy needs serious psychiatric help, weird case of borderline-syndrome I think.

Ursa..

I have to say that to draw a conclussion of profitability based upon such a statistic (even if it were true - sheesh!) is nothing short of hilarious.

In any case Derivman you do need to brush up your 'research' skills and gain a much deeper understanding of where to go for your information & what constitutes an authoritative voice in this world of options.

You can try to refute this if you like, but you'll be going a long way to prove CBOE wrong.

Sell away buddy. Naked if you like! :D
