I can't believe Bush stands to be re elected. Although GDP is growing, there have been millions of net job losses during his presidency. I think it's unprecedented that a president gets re elected with no net job creation in 4 years.
The Dems are not up to the challenge. Sadly, W can play the "war card" any time he chooses to simply scare people into electing him. We've lost hundreds of GI's in Iraq, over what? Haliburton getting nice oil deals? No WMD's yet. The American public has looked the other way at this debacle. Going to war, winning it, losing hundreds of troops, and the purpose was never explained! It's sick. Yeah, Saddam was a bad guy. But we didn't go to war simply because he was a bad guy. If you use that rationale, then we should go to war with N Korea, Libya, Syria, the Saudi's, etc.

You're mostly right, BUT BUSH cannot TALK without a teleprompter...that has some significance. He really is not a bright man. But he doesn't have to be...he fulfills the role of puppet just fine. Karl Rove and others behind the scenes pull the strings.

Since when does the President influence macro global economic cycles. And while I'm at it: after going broke a couple of times and having to work my way back by busting my ass in low skill, low wage jobs, I could really give a FUCK about paying for other peoples health care, drugs and tuition! I never asked for anything, and I lived as bad as any other inner city rat. WTF, this isn't the USSR.
