Seeing that raises are rising throughout services, retail, and restaurant industries --- and it all is driven by a shortage of labor. And the shortage of labor is an artificially created situation caused by the government paying people to sit at home. Your claims are not holding up well on a macro level.

Seeing how people are earning more money and going out and spending that money, retail and restaurants are seeing their revenues increase which allows them to pay more to attract workers.

Shortage of labor is not entirely some fantasy of unemployment benefits, the world has opened up rapidly and people are going out to eat and shop in a huge way. 5.8% unemployment and non farm payrolls increased at their highest level since April 2020!

We are not even fully opened yet in many places but most restrictions are coming off in June.

There might be plenty of people sitting on their asses getting checks but to claim Chioptle only raised wages because too many people are getting unemployment check sounds like a Tucker Carlson soundbyte, not a factual interpretation.

My claim is based on the numbers. The unemp rate would be a lot lower if not for the number of businesses that had to close permanently due to COVID... it will take some time to fill that void and get those people off of benefits.

But restaurant workers now have more choices where to work and they are not going sling diarrhea missles from Choptle if they can make more money elsewhere.

I think a lot of people are ignoring the self-reflection a lot of us made during shutdown and the shift towards improvement (albeit perhaps temporary) many will take. Though maybe this need not apply to sandwich makers.

The modus operandi is to kick the guy who's down. That's what bullies and cowards do. It's who they are. Not that streamlining the boys upstairs will necessarily make a major difference, but it never seems to come to mind when addressing the bottom line where Republicans are concerned.

Why should an easily replaceable person with 0 skills be paid even 1% of someone irreplaceable with the skills to keep a company running? Eventually all those jobs will be automated and the C level will be all a company needs - minimum wage losers are fucked

Because a lot of, but not all, executive contribution and compensation is highly overrated. And that fact gets continually overlooked. Notably by one side of the political aisle. It's a self-serving thing.

If they're keeping billion dollar a year+ companies alive a 1 million dollar salary isnt unreasonable or even much at all. Even a 10 million dollar salary isn't much. If bonuses and incentives make up the majority of their take home its all good in my book.

Maybe there should be bonuses at fast food restaurants to not get orders wrong and the closer to 100% their success rate is (shouldnt ever be below 100% anyways) the higher their bonus. Below 98% no bonus

Its always the lowest of the low working minimum wage though. They're there for a reason, the jobs they do are so easy it takes a retard to mess them up yet they still do
