Breyer to Retire

Well Merrick Garland can claim he self-identifies as a black woman.

Well, you are thinkin outside the box. I like that.

And once you start down that road there are all sorts of possibilities.

Keep in mind that there is no constitutional requirement that a Supreme Court Justice be either a lawyer nor even an American citizen. See what I am sayin there? The next justice may not have even left Guatemala yet and once ICE has the taxi drop her off at the Costco in Brownsville and she gets her Costco card, she is fully qualified. At least more qualified than Kamala is.

Oh yeh, it's a whole new country out there.

As discussed wayyy back when Merrick Garland was appointed AG, and all the tards started grinning like cheschire cats - NOPE. If this is supposed to be Garland rehabilitated and back in the game now for future re-consideration, it is headed nowhere.

Garland us just going to end out taking up the bo-bo twice and is never going to be on the Court, and being AG is just a hack position that is no more elevated than the position he left which was on the DC Court of appeals.

So now Garland not only is not going to be nominated BUT his replacment on the Appeals Court - a skin color woman- will be the number one pick or consideration anyway.

OUCH!!! That's gotta hurt. But screw him. He is a drip. He should be removed from office and put in prison for targetting political enemies, including parents.

Yep. At this point Merrick Garland could not be confirmed. I think his weaponization of the DOJ against parents of school children has completely disqualified him. He is a political hack and now the whole country knows it.

Not really a surprise, to me anyway. He is exactly on my expected timetable.

As I said on September 21:

"That's a roundabout way of leading up to the issue of Justice Breyer retiring or not. He may enter the next term that starts in October and maybe announce after the first of year that this will be his last term so that the dems can start trying their luck. I can see that. That's the best he can do at this point."

The bad news for dems of course, is that he/they are following this timetable because they know they are at risk for the whole enchilada at midterms.
There's no requirement for them to have already been a judge right? I think I read that a long time ago.
Dems own the Senate.
Whatcha think Tree.... could Michelle or Stacy throw their hat in that ring? For real.
They oughta leak Michelle's name, whether she wants to or not... just to make the Turtle keel over and die.

"Can't confirm a supreme court during midterm season"__Sinema probably
No confirming during last three years of a presidents term and especially not within 30 days of valentines day. It's just not done!

This time TurtleFace McConnell cannot say it should be left on the people to decide in 2024.
I don't see why not. If there was no confirming during the last 11 months of Obama's term I don't see why there should be any during the last 36 months of Biden's term. Moscow Mitch will check with the Kremlin and let us know what the rules are now. In any case it is a little too close to Valentines day to be making decisions.
