BMT Elite Membership

You do not have to be an Elite member to view trading journals, only to view trading journals by Elite members who choose to restrict their journals to other Elite members. If I'd had the opportunity to restrict my journal (and some other threads) here on ET to others who were serious enough about trading they could pay a few dollars to keep the trolls away, I'd have done so in a heartbeat.

Fortunately, at BMT I didn't have to restrict my thread to Elite members because the conversations were productive and the moderation at BMT is such that threads rarely get derailed for long.

Webinars and stuff that's restricted to Elite members are marked as such; you don't have to pay first to see what's open to everyone and what's restricted.

I'm no marketer/vendor, but I've met several consistently profitable traders over the years, some even professional in the "hedge fund/market maker/iBank trader" sense, and nearly every one of them is modest, humble, and open to sharing ideas.

As for your commentary, "And I am not doing it for myself, but for everyone who might ever consider joining that thing. Just so that they know what it really is about. Because Big Mike, that champion slash Mother Theresa of retail traders, obviously does not give a damn about it." Wow! Thank you for caring so much about everyone who might consider joining a trading forum that you have no direct experience with. These poor, poor noobs finally have someone to stick up for them

I disagree that the information he provides about the Elite Membership is adequate. You are entitled to your opinion, though, but I have seen at least one vendor smeared over there who provides much more information about his product and charges less.

I wish it were more complete and I am glad that we now know more about it thanks to your contribution. Thanks again for that.

One more question, if you don't mind which seems to have attracted some attention here: does the Elite Membership also include some elite reviews of vendor products?

Yes, I am concerned about it. You can ridicule me all you want, but I do believe that the BMT forum lacks transparency and has double standards, which means it has to be questioned at least, if not more, as any other vendor business. Big Mike is a vendor too.

And it's not true that I am not familiar with the forum. I know it well. I am not familiar with its elite section and I am not hiding it. That's why I started this thread and I was hoping others might benefit from it too.

I have no experience with vendor products or reviews of them, so I have no idea. I paid for the Elite membership because I liked the plethora of detailed trading ideas and the civility of the conversations and just wanted to support the forum. I've never even looked at a Elite webinar or indicators or anything else like that.

Off topic, but somewhat relevant: It's much improved here on ET since the recent departure of certain members.

Thanks for your reply, but frankly how hard is it to check it? Anyone who has access to the elite section of the BMT forum should be able to do so easily.

I suspect the answer is yes, but I could be wrong and so I would like this to be confirmed. If the answer is yes, then the fact this is not disclosed would be another evidence of how badly that forum lacks transparency.

So perhaps you could do us a favor and confirm it for us. As a real trading professional I am sure you value the transparency of this business.

Anybody else, feel free to answer this question as well. The answer is yes or no.

I am an Elite member at BMT, I got in when you could decide how much to give to become an elite member.

If I had to pay $100.00 to become an elite member (wow, is it really that much) I would feel that it was worth it. The amount of webinars that are available is impressive (maybe they can be viewed from other sources, I don't know).

As far as I can tell he runs a tight ship. Keeps threads on topic, no b.s.

Not sure what you want, in your first post you accuse him of bashing vendors while you bash him, call him untrustworthy, etc...

Its like everything in life, you get out of it what you put into it, as stated earlier, Db has created more than one thread about a possible way to trade, dive into that and see if it works for you, best of all it is free.

There's a forum called "Vendors and Product Reviews" that appears to have threads where members ask for feedback about vendors and products, and also a lot of "Ask me anything" threads where you can ask vendors anything. I didn't see any of these threads restricted to Elite members; they're open for anyone to view.

This thread belongs to everyone who has something to say on topic. Otherwise, bug off and take your bigotry to the BMT forum where it can get all the protection it obviously deserves in the circle of right-minded people with all the right heritage.

Well, if he can bash vendors and he is one of them then why is it inappropriate to treat him the same way he treats his competitors.

The original poster simply wanted to have more information about what is going on in the elite part of the forum. That's how I read it. It's a fair inquiry. I don't think he got a lot because some people got defensive and angry about it and tried (perhaps unwittingly) to derail this thread.
