Reps should face reality instead of trying to play the blame game. It is important to know why you lost, (people don't like your message) but don't delude yourself with unreal thinking. One more fact to think about:

1. Going higher still can mean being behind Obama.
2. You have to be careful whose polls you are looking at. I only expect the 538 guy's stats, since he had been right all along...

But anyhow, it is kind of irrelevant to the OP, I was just showing a trend.(and the trend is your friend) As we know votes don't count, only the incredibly stupid Electoral College does....
 
So pekelo, since you are such an elections expert, do you think Romney would have fared better or worse if he had:

1. Attacked Obama repeatedly over the summer of '12 for running a failed economy and bailing out unions and cronies.

2. Reacted with outrage when Obama and the democrat hate machine ran those odious ads accusing him of killing that guy's wife.

3. Reacted with outrage when the democrat hate machine ran those odious ads showing a Paul Ryan look-alike pushing an elderly woman in awheelchair off a cliff.

4. Picked Chris Christie as VP running mate and told him to go after Obama full bore.

5. Not wussed out in the last debate and instead gone after Obama for the Benghazi fiasco.

Just asking.
